On the plane ride, Esmeralda and Pollux continued signing to each other.

"Okay but how do you know each other?" Gale asked with growing curiosity.

"If you really wants know fine," Esmeralda still signing, "are you okay if I tell them the story?" She asked Pollux.

He nodded and asked her if she's okay telling the story, she nodded and he gave a reassuring smile.

"Okay," she look a deep breathe and started talking and signing, "right after my victory tour I was taken up to the Capitol for 7 months. I had said something that Snow determined as rebellious, and in his words 'couldn't have that' and to this day I can remember what I said and what district I said it in. But I was immediately taken to a cell. It was cemented walls with a glass door to see the person in from of you, and wood flooring. I was taken out everyday and taken to different places around Snow mansion, to be tortured depending on his mood." Esmeralda took a deep breath in because he voice was becoming shaky.

Out of now where, Haymitch come down to sit next to her and grabs her hands. "You don't have to tell anyone until you're ready." Haymitch looked at his daughter.

"I know but I feel like I should. Like I need to" Esmeralda took a deep breath in again and got ready to talk and sign again.

"There was nothing anyone could do to stop this, Haymitch tried everything he could but according to Snow me being strapped to an electric chair, jabberjays of my mother and fathers voices for hour on end, and the early testing of the tracker jacker venom being pumped into me, wasn't brought for, quote on quote, embarrassing the Capitol during my games. But being in and out of the Capitol, in and out of Snows mansion, I got to see Finnick, I was able to make sure that he was alive. And I also got to meet Pollux. When everyone was asleep and everything was dark in our cells, we would talk for what felt like hours. Sleeping didn't feel safe, but when talking to a friend it would slightly put you at ease. Then one night the peacekeepers threw him in and no one said anything. I tired to talk to him and he wasn't responding. Just what sounded like silent screams. After a while I yelled over at him if he couldn't talk to knock once for yes and two for no. I heard the slowest two knocked and my heart shattered. I knew what Snow did, they turned him into an avox. Someone with the most soothing voice and the natural gift to ease the tension with a light hearted joke, made to be voiceless hurt, Pollux was going through hell but he helped a scared 15 year old girl relax as much as she could. After a while we figured out how to communicate by knocking but Snow found out and the peacekeepers dragged us both away, and I haven't seen him until now. Finnick didn't mention someone like you while he was stuck there too but neither of us could talk about it, and I didn't want to believe that they were still torturing you." Esmeralda finished talking and signing looking at Pollux.

"Finnick wouldn't shut up about you," Pollux signed with a chuckle, Esmeralda and Castor let out a light hearted laugh.

"I wish he would have told me it was you I would have looked for you, and not assume you were gone" Esmeralda confessed.

"No no, in the world we love in it rightful to assume I was gone, and with Finnick always talking about you there was never enough time for me to talk" Pollux smiles cracking another joke.

Esmeralda didn't realize that she was holding onto Haymitchs hands the entire time until he squeezed them.

"I'm proud of you my girl"

"Thank you, but you shouldn't be here," Esmeralda said to him.

"I need to be here for you and I haven't been." Haymitch getting that off his chest. Not being there for her has been hurting him, and he can see how it hurt her.
