(5) Rain met his royal mother

From the day, the prince arrive, none of his family ever met him. Even his mother or his father, Ostel is the first one to meet the lost royal prince. They also ordered ostel never let anyone know who or the appearance of the prince, only ostel and the men with him knew him without knowing the king's real reason.

The king actually didn't expect to meet his lost son on that way, he ever thought of meeting him in a good and peaceful way still he didn't regret any of it.

First day of prince came back, the king is nervous and unease. He thinks he might hate him and his wife for losing him after his birth, neglected them, or worse he might not acknowledge him as his parents. So many negative thoughts the king could think of yet it was opposite on what he thinks. Or maybe not?

The King never takes his sights off rain, his eyes is still spectating him. "Son, you.. you have grown just like your mother" he warmly touches his cheeks. "I can't even think of, a proper apology for losing you, Varain" for the first time, rain hear his real name from his father's mouth. "Is that what you call me when I was a baby?" The king nodded remembering that happiness moment in his life. "Varain noeul Nuttarat Tangwai" he once again says but this time his real full name. "That's your full name"

"I apologize for meeting your father that way, your royal highness" ostel came Infront of him apologizing. Rain held his shoulder. "no, it's fine. Our first encounter happen because of that bratty princess, I also might thanked her for that " rain taken it as joke. Ostel chuckle because of the prince's cringe joke still it made him laughed.

"Should I escort you back, your Royal highness?" He offered but rain refuses. No, thank you. I can go back on my own"

"I wish I was there, too" the queen sulk. "Tell me whom he mostly looked like?" The queen move her head closely. "Mostly you, just like how we saw him when he's still a new born baby"

now the queen felt excited meeting her lost son after 19 years, he can't wait to place her arm around him and gave him a warm and big hugged just like how the king did his. The queen would also place kisses around his face even if the prince complain about it, she will continue to do so. She will do it so she could somehow repay the 19 years she have lost with him.

"Can't I just request his presence here?" The queen ask with puppy face to her husband.
"Not until, you finished your work, my queen" she pouted.

From the people's point of view, she's a well known, of course and a good role model who fears nothing on her life. But little didn't they knew, she has a soft spot for her family that she never show to neither her people and the other royalty.

"Tell me more about him! Is he chubby? Cute? Kind? Talkative like me or he's like you?" The queen said in one breathe. 'Talkative queen' as always just like Varain" he whispered. "Like mother, like son"

After living inside the palace, rain started to get used to it except the formal talking, other than that everything is fine to him.

Rain's stomach growls after a long training with ostel this afternoon. Rain's day off from the palace already on its deadline. So starting today his training started, it started with an easy training given by ostel, to fixing his posture on both sitting and walking. But it's seems not easy for him.

"Straighten your back, your royal highness" ostel says and rain do as what he said.

Just from that training, rain's back started ache, he was not used to this after all.

"Aww.. my back" rain groan. But instead of going back to his chambers, rain go to kitchen to cooked some food for his hungry stomach.

"Mhm!"

Rain made a easy to cooked brownies, the dessert he favorite the most especially when he's doing this with his mother. Rain can't help but to miss them, rain wants to spend more time with them but he can't made a decision on its own unlike before.

"What you got there?" Out of nowhere, a beautiful lady looks like at her 20's arrive there.
"Sorry for startling you, but.. may I asked what's that?" Rain looked at her and the brownies he made. "This?" She nodded. "This is a brownie, a homemade dessert I made. Here" rain lend her one. "Mhm! So delicious!" She exclaimed.

Rain smile still confusion is in his mind like, Who is she? When did she even got here?

"We seems both like sweets, I can tell just by looking at you" she smiled widely. "Yoo and I share the same thing, aren't we?" Rain don't know why but he feels connect with the lady, that it seems she and he are connected but didn't knew what kind.

Suddenly, she hugged him. Rain felt his clothes behind started to get wet, he also heard some sobbing from the lady. "I didn't mean to leave you, I didn't mean to lost you, my Varain"

Flashback

"Why you chose Varain as my name?" He asked because of his curious.

The king didn't answer his question, he did a little giggle first before answering "it was your mother's choice, she got it from the book she read months before she gave birth to you" the king started

"She said the named rain means a abundant blessings above. At first, I disagree with her naming you rain cause it's weather-related name, but I gave in after, you know why? your mother is super stubborn and also naughty sometimes so if I didn't agree with her, she would throw a tantrum as if I am dealing with a 5 year old child"

Rain just chuckle playfully after hearing his mom's attitude when he was still inside of her, he can't help but to smile. Unexpectedly, hearing this naughty side of his mother from his father.

If his mother heard this, rain could imagine of his mom, kicking, slapping his arm and yelling at his father. Telling him all of those aren't true at all.

End of flashback

"I hope you're not mad" now he could see his mother crying like a 5 year old little girl.

Rain held his mother's hands and said "I am not mad. Besides, I think it's not mom's and dad's fault, right?" His mother felt joy after hearing that she was called mom by her son for the first time.

"Thank you. I will do my best to cover up those years" he received again a hugged from her. Rain tapped her back as she started to sob again.

He can't blame her mother for his lost. He sees that all of those years his mother kept that tears for those years passes. If only he knew who's behind, what happen or the reason why he got lost after his birth. He will never forgive him/her never in his life, even if they begged for hundred times his answer will be the same.
