By the time I got home from my forced trip to the mall, it was almost 6. My mom was home at this point and was furious when I walked into the door. When my mom gets mad, she clips coupons, so when I get to the living room, all of her coupons are spread out across the table. She was sitting there with her hair piled up into a neat bun on the top of her head with her reading glasses on. In her hands, she had her trusty old silver scissors and the newspaper in the other.

"Where in the world have you been!" my mother shrieked the moment she say me. "I have been worried sick! Why didn't you call me?" I look at her face for a minute wondering if she is serious asking why I didn't call her.

"First of all, if you were worried about me, YOU should have called me. Secondly, I do NOT have to tell you where I am going. Third, Anais, Callista, Elizabeth, and Izzie's came and dragged me to the mall to pick out dresses for Izzie's cousin's wedding," I tell her holding up my one shopping bag. We stopped at other stores, but they couldn't force me to buy anything that I didn't want to. Plus all the stores I was dragged to were covered in pink.

"Oh well why didn't you tell me those lovely friends yours were coming to visit you. Its so nice that they came since you weren't feeling well. How are you feeling?" she asks her mood instantly becoming cheery. Her face was also one of a content face which bothered me.

"Yes I'm feeling better, but let's get something straight. Those girls are not my friends. Today is the only day I actually talked to them. My friends are Jadan, Hendrix, Jevan, Niklaus, TeX, Aniya, and Gwendolyn. I also had no idea that they were going to come her and take me to the mall with them." I'm slightly pissed off at my mom, but I try to keep my cool so that she doesn't start yelling at me. She puts down the newspaper and scissors and gives me a look as if she is disappointed in me. My thoughts are confirmed when she opens her mouth to speak.

"Kade dear, I'm extremely worried about you recent behavior. I can't believe you would say those girls aren't your friends. They're very lovely young ladies. You could learn a thing or two from them you know. I'm glad they came get you today." She looks at me with a very concerned face when she finishes. I'm beyond pissed at this point, and I'm looking at her with disbelief written all over my face.

"How can you say this! I don't know what your problem is, but I am doing what I normally do. You're worried about my behavior, but you shouldn't because I'm not acting any differently! Those girls are NOT my friends. You think they are lovely, but they are NOT!" I'm almost shouting when I stop speaking. My eyes are selling ul, and I feel the hot angry tears threatening to spill over. I close my eyes in an attempt to calm myself and slow down my breathing.

"Oh Kade honey. I'm sorry. I thought you were fixed," my mother says softly as if I'm a delicate and fragile child. Before I can retaliate any further, there is a knock on the door.

"I'll go get it mother, but just so you know, I'm never going to be fixed. This isn't over," I spit out placing my bag on the coffee table before walking to the front door. Without looking through the peephole, I open the door to find Sage standing there. Behind him, I see James and Ann in a brand new white truck parked at the curb.

"Hey Kade. Can I talk to you? You weren't at school, and I need to ask you something. I only have a few minutes because we are going somewhere, but can we talk quickly outside?" Sage asks me pleading with his eyes. It seems important to him, so I step outside and close the door behind me before turning to face him.

"What is it?" I ask him still slightly irritated from my argument with my mom.

"Okay well I think it's time we try doing something together to help get your memory back. Tomorrow since it's Friday, I thought I could try to re-create our first date. Even if you don't want to think of it like that, I think it would help jog your memory. So what do you say?" He's right about me not really wanting to think of it like a date, but he looks so hopeful. I do have to agree with him though because I do think its a good idea. I mean it worked before, so why not?

"Okay. I'll do it. Do I have to wear anything specific?"

"No. Just dress comfortably and be ready by 7 okay?"

"Yeah okay. See you tomorrow." I watch him walk to the truck with a little bounce in his step showing that he was happy with how our conversation turned out. Once they drive off, I go back inside to be immediately bombarded by my mom.

"Who was at the door Kade? You were outside talking for quite some time."

"It was just Sage mom, and we were only talking for less than five minutes." I grab my shopping bag by the handle and walk up the stairs to my bedroom. Throwing my bag on the ground, I flop down on my bed laying on my back looking at the ceiling.

'What did I just get myself into?' I think to myself wondering if I just screwed up big time.
