"Okay class! Remember that the essays are due on Monday! Enjoy your lunch and have a good weekend!" my English teacher shouts over the bell to be heard. I'm pretty sure not many people heard her though. I forgot about that essay, but since I'm still behind in school work, I don't necessarily have to do the essay.
Walking out of the classroom and into the hall, the hall is swarming with masses of bodies. My English classroom is in the hallway leading to the cafeteria and is always crowded, but this was ridiculous. As I try to make my way to the doors leading to the courtyard, I realize why it's abnormally crowded.
It's French Fry Friday.
French Fry Friday only happens on the last Friday of the month. Throughout the month, there are small fund raisers and a donation box that the cafeteria has. What happens is that they take all the money they get from that and buy bags of curly fries from the supermarket and give them out at lunch. I don't know how much you pay to get them, but I do know that you need to get there as fast as you can because they run out fast. I tried once to get them, but it wasn't worth being pushed around and stepped on.
When I finally push my way through the throngs of people and get outside, I sprint over to the Wall to wait for everyone else. The only people there when I got there were Jevan, Niklaus, and Gwendolyn.
"Where is everyone else?" I ask them jumping onto the wall next to Gwendolyn.
"TeX and Hendrix went to get more snacks and drinks for Secret Spot, and Aniya and Jadan are attempting to get curly fries," Gwendolyn tells me before looking at her phone for a text from TeX.
"I don't know why they are risking their lives for curly fries," Jevan says shaking his head.
"It's because curly fries are freaking delicious!" exclaims Niklaus. We all just laugh at this because he has an obsession with curly fries like my obsession with hot chocolate. He's just smart enough not to go fight for them.
"We're probably going to be waiting for Aniya and Jadan then. Are TeX and Hendrix going to met us there?" I ask Gwendolyn.
"That's what TeX said," she says not looking up from her phone.
"Hey I think I see them!" Jevan shouts standing up trying to see better.
"It looks like they're saying something," Niklaus says squinting his eyes against the sun.
"Run to the car you idoits! We got the last of the curly fries! They're coming!" Jadan yells desperately looking for her keys. We all jump down and take off to the cars.
"Okay everyone get in my car. Jadan and Aniya can go in Jadan's car," Jevan tell us pulling his keys from his backpack. He unlocks the CSR, and we all open the doors and hop in the car. As he starts it, we see Jadan and Aniya running to Jadan's car. We wait for them to start the CSR before we drive off escaping the hoard of people trying to maule Jadan and Aniya for their fries.

"So let me get this straight. Your parents think something is wrong with you because you don't have your memory back, so they set up an appointment to get it back even though the doctor already said it'll come back on its own?" Hendrix asks making sure he heard me right.
"Yeah that's it," I say looking at my hands trying to calm down once again.
'That's bullshit!" TeX exclaims speaking up for the first time since I started telling my story.
"That's what we said when she told us!" Aniya shouts out jumping up from the bean bag she was sitting in.
"Girl sit your butt down," Niklaus says grabbing her arm and pulling her back down.
"So what are you going to do about it?" asks Hendrix taking a sip of his soda.
"To be honest, I don't have a clue because I'm pissed of arguing with them because they don't listen to me," I say flopping down on the mattress.
"Anyone have any ideas?" Gwendolyn asks.
"I haven't come up with anything, and I've been thinking all morning," Jadsn says getting up and joining me on the mattress.
"Why don't we all just go to Kade's house and talk to her parents," Jevan suggests. They all look at me to see if it was okay with me, and I nodded my head indicating that it was okay with me.
***
When we get to my house, we all pile out the cars and wait outside. They all turn to me waiting for me to go open the front door. I take my key out of my pocket and put it in the lock before twisting it and opening the door. We all walk in and make our way to the office downstairs where my parents are.
"Ok Kade! You're home already. . .and you brought your. . .friends," my mom says her face twisting when she notices my friends. "You need to get ready for your doctor's appointment."
"Oh about that," Hendrix say speaking up. "Kade's not going."
"She has to!" my mom says.
"You can't force her memory to come back and the doctor already said that," Jevan tells her.
"But her behavior-," my dad starts before being cut off by Niklaus.
"There is nothing wrong with her behavior. She is not acting any different, and if you have a problem with that, that means you don't know your daughter." My parents looked shocked at my friends for saying this, but it is the truth. A doctor's appointment isn't going to do anything, and they would be wasting their money.
"We just want what's best," my dad says.
"What's best right now is to just let it happen on its own," Aniya says gently using that as a tactic to get them to change their mind.
"If that's what's best."
