Important author's note at the end please read.

This one is different from the others.

I sit frozen in the passenger seat as I watch an eighteen wheeler come barreling towards us from having lost control. Sitting there, I watch in horror as it comes closer and hits us head on. The eighteen wheeler turns, and we flip into a ditch.

"Kade! Kade! Calm down!" I hear Sage say. I then realize that I am hyperventilating. "Calm down! Are you okay? What happened?" I look around in rapid movements due to my body not recovering yet and see that we are pulled over. When I turn my head to Sage, I see him looking at me with wide eyes.

"We were hit by an eighteen wheeler and flipped in a ditch!"

"W-what?" Sage asks flabbergasted. He freezes in place and looking at me as if he didn't hear me correctly.

"I don't know you tell me. Is it true?" I ask my eyes locked on him waiting for an answer I hope not to hear.

"U-uh yeah. H-how do you know t-that," he stampers the words seeming to not want to come out.

"I saw it just now. Wait this actually happened? How come I didn't know?" It was now my turn to be in a state of shock. I don't believe my ears! I don't understand!

"Yes this happened about a month ago. The reason you don't remember that is because you have amnesia. Didn't they tell you that at the hospital?"

"I don't know; I don't remember. That whole day was a blur of nothingness to me that has only a few clear parts I don't understand!" I shout out running my hands through my hair and then resting it in my hands.

"Kade, this accident, do you remember anything else?" he asks me taking my hands in his. Sage's eyes are full of hope and something else that I can't place.

"N-not really. I know someone else was with me, a group but I'm not sure. I don't remember what they first told me at the hospital either," I say to him looking down my eyes tearing up.

"Kade. Kade don't cry." He lifts my chin with his fingers and wipes away the few tears that leaked out with his thumb his hand still cupping my face.

"I c-can't help it." I pull away and wipe my nose on my sleeve. "I just figured out that I was involved in a deadly car crash that caused me my memory. I'm scared out of my mind right now." My body starts shaking as I talk. I start hiccupping as I cry making it hard to understand what I'm saying.

"Shh. It's okay," Sage says pulling me across the console and into his embrace running his hand down my hair in a soothing gesture. "I got you. Do you want me to take you home?"

"N-no! T-that's a-alright. Can w-we just watch a m-movie at your h-house?" I ask pulling away from him and wiping my eyes.

"Why at my house?"

"My mom and dad w-would a-ask q-questions. I c-can't deal with t-that right n-now." I slow my breathing by taking deep breaths in and out, and it helps somewhat.

"Yeah okay I understand." He helps me buckle my seat belt before buckling his own and pulling back onto the road.

"I'm s-sorry you h-had to change y-your p-plans," I say to him still stuttering a bit but no longer crying and shaking.

"It's okay. I'm not mad. Would you want to do what I originally planned on a different day once this passes, and you're calmed down?" he asks me his eyes never straying from the road.

"Yeah I would." Weird thing is that I really mean that. I turn to stare out the window and admire the scenery. I've always loved looking at the scenery as I pass by in a car. It's so calming to me. Before I know it, I'm fully calmed down completely.

"We're here Kade. Come on," Sage tells me coming around to my door and opening it for me. I unbuckle my seat belt and take his hand he offered to help me down. As soon as I have my footing, I let go and follow him up to the door. He takes his keys and opens the door gesturing for me to go in. Once we are both in, he leads me to the living room.

"What movies do you have?" I ask him laying down on the couch.

"Pretty much anything really," he says opening a cabinet door containing all the movies.

"Can we watch Pocahontas?" I ask trying to climb into my sweater only to remember that it stops at mid-drift. Sage pops the DVD into the player and grabs a blanket off the chair bringing it to me.

"Move over so I can lay down too." I move my body over to let him on the sofa. When the movie starts, we both become quiet and don't speak a word to each other.

After a few minutes, I realize that I'm not really watching the movie but rather thinking. My guard was completely down earlier. He saw me in my moment of weakness, but he didn't laugh at me like some people would. I wonder why I feel like this.

Author's Note: I know this is a day late. I'm not going to post anything next week. To be honest, I didn't want to post anything this week. My dog died the other day from a snake bite. I'm really upset about it, and it was hard for me to try an type this today. Luckily, the snake was killed before it bite and killed anything else. I hope you enjoy this chapter, and please mind any spelling errors I made. Love you all!
