Sage's P.O.V
"Sage honey, you all right there?" my mom asked me waving her hand in front of my face.
"Yeah I'm all right. Why do you ask?" I ask her with my eyes focusing on my surroundings instead of starting off into the distance in la-la land.
"Well it's almost five in the morning, which you are never up at, and you were staring off into space with some paper in front of you," she answers gesturing towards the microwave clock and then the dining table that I was sitting at.
"Is it really almost five in the morning?" I ask in disbelief.
"Yeah it is. What time did you go to bed?" my mom asked probably realizing why I was up this early.
"Uh. . . I haven't gone to bed at all?" I tell her phrasing it as a question unsure of how she would react.
"Really Sage! Really?" she let out with a sigh closing her eyes and running her hand through her hair while the other rested on the back of the chair across from me. "Why didn't you go to sleep?"
"Because I've been thinking too much."
"About what?"
"Kade," I admit resting my head in my hands trying not to go to sleep. I heard my mom let out another sigh before making her way around the table to come sit in the chair next to me.
"Sage, I understand how hard this is for you with her losing her memory of you, but there isn't much that you can do. You shouldn't be losing sleep over it. Why are you up right now?" she asks pulling me into her chest and resting her head on top of my head.
"I'm trying to help her re-create her memories, but when I tried to re-do our first date, well you know what happened. She said she would want to do it later, so I'm trying to put a real effort in getting every detail perfect because I want to ask her tomorrow. Right now though, I'm just tired and have a headache from thinking about this, but I don't want to go to sleep until I get everything sorted out," I tell my mom explaining to her everything I was thinking about while she rubbed circles on my back. She stays quiet for awhile before speaking again.
"You need to go to sleep. If you're staying up because of this, then I can help you and get together what you need while you actually sleep. It's not good for you body to become sleep deprived. Go to sleep honey, I'll take care of everything for you."
***Kade's P.O.V***
"Kade dear, would you go answer the door for me?" my mom asked looking up from her computer briefly to make sure I was listening to her.
"Sure mom. I'll come get you if it's for you," I reply getting up from my spot on the couch to go over to the door that just rang. I mumbled the whole time I walked over because I wanted today to be my lazy day. I mean come on it's lazy Sunday. Not really paying attention, I opened the front door.
"Oh hey Sage."
"Hey Kade," he says running one hand through his hair while his other hand stayed behind his back as if he was holding something there, "Are you doing anything later today?"
"Not that I know of. Why?" I asked him hearing my mom shuffling around in the living room behind me.
"Well I wanted to know if you were up for going on that re-do of our first date," he said moving his other hand from behind his back to reveal a bouquet of red and pink roses five each. I take the flowers in my hands a bit surprised at the gesture.
"Sure," I say nodding my head yes looking at the flowers, "I have nothing else to do today, so that would be kind of nice to do."
"Great! I'll be back to pick you up at five. Be sure to dress nice," he said coming up to gather me in a hug and kiss my cheek, "I'll see you later Kade. Bye!"
I stand there a bit in shock as I watch him happily walk away to his brother's truck. Before he drove away, he waved at me before focusing on the road. I watched him drive away still standing in the door frame until I couldn't see him anymore.
Once I walked into my house, I was then assaulted with new questions in my mind. They were all what ifs on possible outcomes, but one stuck out the most to me.
What would I wear?
I'm sure I looked a bit freaked out or zombie like as I went up the stairs to my room. I was oblivious to everything until I placed my flowers down on my bed and then noticed my mom standing by my door frame.
"Come with me for a minute," she says walking away leaving me with no time to respond. I followed her down the hall to her room. She went over to her closet and began rummaging around for something.
"What are you looking for?" I asked her going over to her.
"Your dress," she replies standing up straight again holding out a maroon colored cocktail dress to me. It stopped at a little bit above the knee and has no sleeves. The dress has a V-neck that shows a bit of cleavage and a slim waist. It was made of soft cotton material that felt good on the skin of my hand that was touching it.
I was standing in front of a full length mirror in a dress store in the mall. My mom was standing beside me with a genuine smile on her face that reached her eyes.
"Are you sure this dress looks good on me?" I had asked her skeptically.
"Of course dear. You look absolutely beautiful. I'm sure Sage will agree," she had said resting her head on my shoulder.
"Mom!"
"Kade dear, are you alright? You're crying," my mom said looking at me with concern in her eyes.
"We bought this dress together on my real first date with Sage," I had said wiping my eyes as a smile made its way to my face.

Author's Note: So so so so sorry about the long wait! I really feel terribly bad about honestly. I'm trying to get better at being more on time with everything, but I've also been juggling school work which is making me behind schedule. I'm planning on writing two more chapters for this to post on Sunday to make up for it. Love you all! XOXO!~jnicoleb1234 out!
