P.O.V. is back to Kade

I'm falling. Sinking more like it. I can't see anything around me. All is dark. It feels near but sounds distant. The surging of water muffled screams of terror and the scraping of metal on rock. I feel sluggish. The motions and actions around me are sluggish.

Suddenly, it becomes hard to breath. My lungs feel like they're on fire. I can't breath through my nose; something is blocking it. I try to open my mouth, but the pressure on it is too great. I'm slowly running out of air, and I can't do anything to save myself. I don't know where I am.

Out of seemingly nowhere, I feel strong arms slowly wrap around my waist. The person kicks with their legs and drags my limp body upward. I feel the water around me becoming colder as we get closer to breaking the surface. Almost there. Almost. . .

"Kade, Kade darling wake up. You're going to miss out on breakfast if you don't get up soon," an unfamiliar voice says. I open my eyes slowly and can't see anything as they are still groggy with sleepiness. When I can finally see, I see a beautiful woman kneeling in front of me.

"Who are you?" I ask the woman.

"I'm Sage's mom. Artemis," the woman says identifying herself. The woman has jet black hair that falls in waves and emerald green eyes exactly like Sage's. She has a small face and a nose stud on the right side of her nose.

"Oh," I say with my face becoming red with embarrassment for not recognizing her. "I'm sorry, but I don't exactly remember you."

"It's okay dear. Sage explained to me your. . . condition. I understand, and I'm not offended," she says patting my shoulder with a small smile. "I'm going to get back to the kitchen to make sure James and Sage haven't burned the food yet."

I just stay sitting on the couch with my foggy sleepy brain before I realize I have a major problem. My parents don't know where I am! I finally get them to leave me alone and stop bothering me about everything and then this happens!

"Oh my god! Oh my god!" I whisper shout throwing the blanket off of me and search for my phone. "My parents are going to kill me!"

"Whoa! Kade slow down! What are you doing?" Sage asks me coming into the room with two cups of coffee in his hands.

"My parents are going to kill me! It's morning, I'm not home, and I know I didn't call them because I never do! I finally got them to stop bugging me!" I tell him with my voice raising while searching under the couches for my phone. When I feel it under my hand, I pull myself to my feet. Sage sees that I'm about to leave, and he puts the coffee down coming towards me.

"Kade it's okay! I got it taken care of," he says to me placing his hands on my shoulders.

"What do you mean?" I ask him stopping my movements to listen him.

"I called your parents once I realized you fell asleep. I told them you fell asleep in the car while I was driving you home and that I didn't want to disturb them. They told me it was alright that you stayed at my house last night. To be honest, they said you could stay the whole weekend if you'd like, but I figured you probably wouldn't," he says all in one breath trying to get all the words out before I tried to leave. I stop and blink at him as the words sink into my brain.

"So they know I'm here and didn't ask you any questions?" I ask him with my words forming slowly. He nods his head backing away from me to grab the coffee. "I can't believe they believed that lie!" My body shakes as I try to unsuccessfully keep my laughter in. Sage cracks a grin that reaches his eyes lighting up his whole face.

"Hey I made you some coffee. Half coffee, half milk, and three spoonfuls of sugar. Just like you like it," Sage says handing me the cup in his left hand.

"How did you know?" I ask him the words tumbling out of my mouth before realizing how stupid I sounded right about now.

"It's something you had told me before. . . you know," he says the light leaving his eyes along with his grin.

Swosh.

I'm outside my body again, but we are still in the same room. I know this is a memory because it was snowing outside.

"James said there is no more hot chocolate," Sage says coming into the room. I then realize that I'm sitting next to them on the same couch.

"Sorry guys, I thought we had it in the pantry," James apologizes coming into the room behind Sage.

"Great!" Ann exclaimed throwing her hands up in the air. "It's freezing out, and now we have nothing hot to drink!"

"Well we do have coffee," James offered up as a suggestion. I stand in the middle of the room and watch everyone nod their heads in agreement.

"How do you like your coffee Kade?" Sage asks me.

"Half coffee, half milk, and three spoonfuls of sugar," I watch myself say to him.

"You okay Kade? You zoned out on me," Sage says bringing me back to reality. He has me sitting down on the couch with an arm around my shoulders.

"Yeah," I say turning to him with a small smile. "I just remembered I told you only because James forgot to get hot chocolate." His grin returns full force when I say that.

"By the way, Ann is here and brought clothes for you to change into if you want to take a shower," he says getting up and picking a stack of clothes from the coffee table and hands it to me. "I'm sure you know where my shower is since you put the hair dye in my shampoo bottle."

Author's Note: Ok, so I'm finally back with this story! To be honest, it feels good to be updating all my stories again. I originally thought I was at the halfway point in this story, but after thinking and planning out how I want this to go, I realized that I reached the halfway point about two chapters ago. As of right now, I have in my plans to end this on March 30. For Hearing Everything Around Me, I asked for my readers to send me boy and girl names for a child. If you do not read that story and you have name ideas, you can tell me them here (I'll also dedicate the next chapter to you). The soonest you'll hear from me again is Tuesday. As always, love you all!
