I finally come to myself and I see that the ceremony is over. I entrust my jacket to my driver because I want to do parkour to clear my mind.
For some unknown reason, on this day, I think back to the incident that occurred two years earlier. This incident was beyond strange. The real problem is that I don't remember much about what happened to me. All that comes to mind is a few images that look more surreal than anything else. However, I feel like this is not the first time something like this has happened to me. When I try to remember it insistently, there are always those migraines that dissuade me.
"Instead of racking my brains trying to remember the past, it's better to focus on what I'm doing. The slightest misstep and it's death... And why not put an end to it? Anyway...'' I say to myself as I land on the roof of an apartment building.
I think I see a white dress floating in the distance for a brief moment but it disappears as quickly as it appeared.
"I see things that don't exist now. I need to rest." I tell myself before I resume walking.
Carried by the wind, I cross the property at a dizzying speed. The property is really beautiful seen from above. I cross our castle, the various infrastructures and houses of the property and then I enter the forest which isolates my laboratory from the rest of the property. Going from branch to branch, from tree to tree, I cross the forest at full speed.
Sometimes I wonder about my physical abilities which are anything but normal. I excel in martial arts and I am an accomplished gymnast. I could easily be world champion in several sports but I don't see the point of participating in a competition when winning doesn't require any effort on my part. Lost in my thoughts, I gradually get closer to my laboratory.
I finally reach my laboratory. Perched on a branch of a large tree, I remember the events of a few months ago.
I had accidentally contaminated a sample that Énama was analyzing, and since then I had become his main subject of study. My parents also participated in it while being subjects. For some reason that was previously unknown to us, the two shared a very rare recessive gene that apparently wasn't recessive in me. Apart from the extraordinary strength and agility I demonstrated, I could not claim to be special. It was therefore a question of understanding the implications of this gene on my physiology, but until then we had not made any progress. At least that's what I thought.
Coming to, I look at the lab and notice some unusual activity. The laboratory is guarded by more than suspicious people in full armor and very well built. Having no idea what is going on in my laboratory, I decide to sneak in.
I carefully observe the movements of the guards. After a few minutes, I notice a flaw in their system. A blind spot on the right side of the building. Fortunately, it turns out that one of the secret passages of this building is located there. I know all the architectural secrets of this building. After all, I designed it and supervised its construction from start to finish.
With my infiltration plan established, I discreetly descend from the tree and use the plants in the garden surrounding the lab to escape the guards' vigilance. I stop until the guards who are watching this side move away. One of them disappears towards the back of the building and the other heads towards the garden. I take advantage of this moment to come out of my hiding place and head towards a part of the wall that is easy to climb. At this moment, I hear guards talking from the back of the building. This gives me time to climb the wall without rushing. One take at a time, I climb the wall and get closer to the roof. I lean on a metal socket, the support of a camera that has not been installed in order to leave this blind spot. The socket that is not strong enough suddenly cracks and breaks. I fall. At this height, I'm a goner
"Maybe it's not bad." I then tell myself that I am falling into the void.
The next moment, my survival instincts and overtrained body take over the desperation that tries to take over me and I hold on to an air conditioning duct.
"The noise I made was loud enough to attract the attention of the guards who were talking at the back of the building."
I rush over and climb the wall at full speed. My grips are so strong that I myself am surprised by this surge of strength. Fortunately, I find myself on the roof just before the guards arrive.
From the roof, I see the guards rushing in and inspecting the right side of the lab.
"Did you hear that noise too?" One of the guards asks.
"Yes, but you can see that there is nothing here. It's probably a wild animal," says the other guard. "In these mountains, that's to be expected."
The two guards separate. One returns to the back of the building and the other remains and observes the trees that are a few dozen meters from the building.
After this dangerous episode of climbing, I finally find myself on the roof where one of the secret hatches of this laboratory is located. For some reason, there is no guard on the roof.
"Énama may not have considered it necessary to secure the roof. It really makes my job easier."
I get up and head to the secret hatch that looks like an air conditioning device. I open a metal cover revealing a security control panel. I put my fingerprint which is recognized and then I enter a password that is also recognized. The entire box slides to the right, revealing steps that finally allow me to enter the laboratory.
I never imagined that one of the secret passages I had installed to escape the vigilance of my parents and Enama could prove to be as useful as it is today. It opens onto a secret control room that is known only to me. I look at the CCTV images and I quickly realize that everything is under Énama's control. He is the one from whom the guards take their orders. Relieved, I decide to go out to meet my friend in his office. However, I remain cautious and avoid the guards who roam the corridors of the laboratory. With some difficulty, I find myself near Énama's office. I speed up my pace to find it as quickly as possible but what I hear afterwards makes me slow down until I stop completely. My friend who is talking with one of his guards makes a speech that seems more than incoherent to me.
"His parents, idiots who only spent their time thinking about doing good around them and devoting themselves to their research without even worrying about who they really were. A prince and a princess of a lineage so old that very few remember it."
In his office, Énama is in front of a painting that he looks at with contemplation. It is a sinister picture that looks like a bloody piece of cloth. On this piece of fabric, it is possible to see what looks like claw marks. At the sight of this painting, whose freshness of blood had been miraculously preserved, it is difficult to imagine that the person wearing this garment survived what had happened to him. However, it is even more macabre to have such a painting adorn one's desk, even if it is a relic of a forgotten history. Anyone faced with this painting asks the same question. "What wild beast is capable of inflicting such wounds?" Like most people, I was unable to answer that question.
"I don't know what chance led these two to find themselves together... And their son as incompetent as he is talented. He has no idea what he is, how lucky he was. Unable to understand his potential, he refutes what he has in front of him. He could become the most powerful being in this and other planes, but he's content to play monkey and lab rats."
Énama turns around and faces his interlocutor who has remained clinging to his lips waiting impatiently for his next words.
