Not expecting to hear a statue speak and not imagining that it is possible, I stand up and look around. I inspect the statue but I don't see anyone.
''Is anyone there?'' I ask as I inspect the surroundings. ''Show yourself.''
At that moment, what looked like a statue folds its wings and looks in my direction.
"Stop screaming." Said the creature. "That's why I hate ignorant people.
At that moment, I finally realize that this creature is not a decoration and that it is certainly one of those beasts.
"Kid, if you're done resting, you have to go." Said the creature. "I have more important things to do than babysitting."
I take a few steps back and take a defensive position. The creature looks at me with a detached look and crosses its arms.
"Do you really think you'd still be alive if I wanted to kill you?" The creature asks. "I've been watching you sleep for hours."
"Sleeping... At least that means I'm still alive." I say to myself. "This creature doesn't look aggressive at all. I thought they wanted to kill us all."
I relax a bit and head over to the root I was lying on when I woke up and sit on it.
"Where am I? What am I doing here? "I ask the creature. "More importantly, you were the one who saved me from this creature of darkness?"
''One question at a time.'' Said the creature.
"In less than a day, so many things have changed. I'm conversing with a strange creature in an even stranger place and I manage to keep my composure." I say to myself, realizing how much my life has changed since my parents' funeral.
The creature sighs and lowers its hands, which have remained crossed until then.
"You are still alive. We are not in paradise. It's just another plane in which creatures like me live." Said the beast.
I look at the creature who seems to contain his irritation. "For some reason, I feel like it doesn't like me, but it seems like it's obligated to take care of me right now." I speculate by observing the behavior of the beast.
''Were you the one who saved me from this creature of darkness?'' I ask the beast.
For some reason, I feel like it's not it. I don't feel the oppression and coercion I felt when I came across that creature. It looks stronger than the first creature of darkness I met, but it's still way much weaker than the one in the throne room.
"No, it's not me. Someone asked me to keep an eye on you after I found you unconscious in the throne room." Said the beast.
It turns around and takes a few steps then sits on a root and sighs once more.
"You have to learn to recognize danger. Anyone with their right mind would never have come near this throne room." Said the creature. "It is still surprising that this beast itself tried to kill you. Maybe this authority she is talking about really exists."
At that moment, I recognized this word and I still don't understand the meaning.
"What exactly is this authority?" I ask. "If I remember correctly, this beast said I was a threat to his authority."
"Authority is the domination that one has over a concept. Every master and every beast that reaches a certain level discovers its authority." Says the beast who stands up and observes the beautiful landscape around it. "They are very diverse and sometimes difficult to discern. However, they distinguish normal people from masters."
