Chapter 34 : Awakening

Ekobo, the prince without a kingdom, finally rises. He knows nothing of what happened after the long conversation that took place the day before. The five young people are sitting on the veranda all in swimsuits. This is the first time he has had the opportunity to admire the beautiful identical bodies of Bella and Ella in swimsuits. As he is absorbed in the contemplation of the two young women under the bored gaze of Bella who just manages to hold back, Ama finally speaks.

"It's time. Let's go.'' Ama said solemnly.

"Are you sure? " Asks Ekobo who is still reluctant.

"We have no choice." Said Ama. "Moreover, if someone arbitrarily decided to deprive you of your power booster, would you just accept it? ''

''...'' Ama hit the nail on the head. Ékobo finally puts himself in Bindzi's place and decides to help him. "OK big sister. I'll help you."

The two young men and three young women head towards the lake. They all enter the lake. After yesterday's mess in the indoor pool, it was obvious that playing with this seal inside the house was dangerous. Ama not being as carefree as Bella and Ella decides to do it in the lake. Poor Nyangono had already paid the price for the twins' carelessness once and that was one time too many.

''Let's get started.'' Ama said solemnly. "Ekobo puts both your hands on his back. Bella, Ella channel your energy to me. You must not have direct contact with him. I'll take care of the rest."

Ama and his companions take up positions around Bindzi. Ama places one hand on Bindzi's head and another on his chest. Bindzi nods to her to let her know that he is ready and she responds by decreeing the start of the operation.

''Let's get started.''

Each of them releases a large amount of energy. Bella and Ella, who have their hands on Ama's back, pour out their energy into her. Ekobo and his sister Ama, through the ability of their lineage, seek the authority of Bindzi flees within him and try to bring it out. However, the process is too slow.

A whirlpool of water forms around Bindzi. Deformed filaments of multicolored energy can be seen accumulating more and more around Bindzi.

''More power.'' Ama said in an authoritative voice.

Ékobo complied without delay.

''Boost X 4.'' Says Ékobo who uses his authority to multiply his power by four.

Ella and Bella look at each other. Each understands what the other has in mind. Ella reaches out her right hand to Bella, who places the palm of her left hand against her sister's. The two intertwine their fingers.

Ama closes her eyes and is thrown forward at lightning speed. After a few moments, she decelerates abruptly and finds herself in front of what looks like a huge black door suspended in a white mist traversed by filaments of multicolored energy. The massive door is covered with gold characters written in an ancient language. Ama closes her eyes and raises her hand. She points two fingers at the door and writes several lines in the same language. Once she's finished writing, she opens her eyes and pushes those lines floating in the air towards the door. Lines of text move quickly toward the door but slow down more and more as they get closer to the door. Ama pushes with all her strength but the writings hardly move forward. After all these efforts, they are on the verge of failure.

Only Ekobo, who shares the same blood as Ama, can understand the seriousness of the situation. At this precise moment each of them must give their best.

The discomfort is visible on Bindzi's face who is covered in sweat despite the fact that he is immersed in the water of the lake. Despite the pain caused by all this energy churning inside him, he grits his teeth and let the ceremony move forward.

"Give it your all, we're almost there." Ama said as she pushed with all her might.

"Originally we were just one. Let what was separated regain its form... Reminiscences of the source.'' Say Ella and Bella, whose voices overlap perfectly.

The bodies of the two young women light up and disappear. A single young woman appears behind Ama and puts both hands on her back.

''Boost X 21600'' says Ékobo who decides to give it his all in an instant.

The next moment, the water swirling around Bindzi intensifies and then explodes. The water tinted by the multicolored energy is projected into the air as well as Ama, Bella, Ella and Ékobo. In the midst of this surge of energy stands a single man, tall and strong like an impregnable tower.

Bindzi raises his hand and everything freezes and calms down. In this surge of power, for a fraction of a second, everything that has a conscience in that place feels it waver. Then, in a clear, distinct voice that resonates in space itself, as if guided by a primal force unknown to him, Bindzi opens his mouth and utters words he has never heard.

"Oppose, submit. Resist, give up. Relentless is our authority. The Emana clan dominates."

These words resonate in the very souls of the three young people suspended in the air, unable to do anything.

''I'm in control.'' Bindzi said in a solemn voice. "You are mine and you always have been."

Time, which has frozen for a brief moment, is finally taking its course. Bindzi slowly lowers his hand. The two young women and Ékobo slowly fall back into the water of the lake, which also slowly descends and calms down. In the face of this demonstration of the supreme domination of absolute control. Ama, Ékobo and the twins who are now one look at Bindzi in silence. The ceremony that began with five people ends with four. All eyes turn to the young woman who is standing not far from Ama.

"Bella, Ella? No, who are you?" Ekobo, who had never seen the twins use their authority, asks.

"Have you never seen our authority?" The young woman asks. "Ella and Bella can merge to form a third person. You can call us Lalla... The third... Even if in reality, we are the first."

Lalla looks at Ekobo, who looks exhausted after abusing his authority. Bindzi for his part does not seem to have completely come back to himself after his last tour de force. He is certainly adapting to his new worldview.

"Ékobo, follow me, I'll help you." Lalla said. "Ama, check Bindzi's condition and get out of the water too."

Without wasting time, Lalla pulls Ékobo by the hand. He who has never had such close contact with her does not resist and even goes so far as to lean on her. For a split second, Lalla displays that bored look that only Bella has the secret, but her face softens and she drags Ekobo home.

"Is it normal for human beings to merge?" Ékobo asks.

"We are an exception." Lalla said. ''Don't compare us to you simple humans...''

"I have the impression that his authority has triggered a resonance of ancestral memory." Ékobo adds.

Meanwhile, Bindzi, who for the first time feels his full power, measures the extent of his domination over his surroundings and the implications of this power. He closes his eyes and feels the energy around him. He raises his hand and creates a big wave under Ama's stunned gaze. He lowers his hand and the water lowers and calms down completely without leaving a single ripple on the water. It was as if the world itself was listening to him.

''Come closer!'' Bindzi said, addressing Ama, who was placed a few steps away from him.

As if pushed by an invisible force, she propels herself forward and falls into Bindzi's arms. He kisses her passionately. Ama clings to his neck and kisses him with the same passion. After a few seconds, coming to herself, Ama pushes him away and takes two steps back.

"You don't need that to get me." Ama said in a calm voice.

She walks towards Bindzi and puts her hands on his chest and gives him a brief but tender kiss.
