Derrick's eyes widened as he opened the bag in front of him. The smile quickly spread across my face as his mouth went in a big O in a surprised manner. As soon as he pulled out the silver and black watch, he ran to hug me, with a lift off the floor.

"I've been wanting a new watch. This is perfect." He said, gently placing me back down. "Thank you.

"You're welcome. That's not all, though, " I said with a smile.

He quickly went back into the bag and pulled out a little box.

He raised an eyebrow at me. "I thought you would never ask! Of course I'll marry you!"

I look at him amused. "You better! I spent my life savings on that damn ring!" I say sarcastically.

He chuckles as he opens the box. It's a pair of earrings.

"This looks expensive. You didn't have to actually get me anything." He said, admiring the two items in his hands.

I shrug. "I had extra money saved and thought of you when I saw them. You're my best friend in the entire world. I wanted to get you something." I said, sitting on the couch.

"You're the best!" He said in a happy tone.

My day was completely made as soon as Derrick came over. He's been at my house for a few hours already. We chilled, caught up on the things that went on while being away.

I told him all about Las Vegas, New York, and about seeing Abel nearly everywhere I went. I also told him about my dad getting so pissed off about Abel that he kicked his ass.

Derrick shared how busy he's been, but he's excited to finally have time off from work.

He just started his two week vacation while mine just ended.

It was fun while it lasted. At least I got to spend time with everyone today and tomorrow.

My brother, cousin, sister in law, and niece are coming over in a few hours. We agreed to do a cookout with meat, hot dogs, and hamburgers.

Jermaine is out with his crew, and Xavier is buying everything we need for the cookout.

I'm so happy to have both of my babies home.

"How does it look?" Derrick asks.

"It looks really good on you."

He sits on the couch next to me. "Thanks again, this is amazing!"

"You're very welcome."

Derrick wasted no time in wearing his new earrings and watch.

It matches perfectly with his black t-shirt and black jeans. He scoots closer to me on the couch and lays his head on my shoulder. I rested my head on his and smiled. I missed him so much.

"You should go to Vegas more often. Who knows what gift I would get next time." He mumbles.

"Don't be greedy now. Traveling is expensive."

He chuckled softly. "That shouldn't be a problem, your man in Jermiane."

I roll my eyes, which he couldn't see.

"I don't allow Jermaine to pay for all my expenses, and you know that."

"I know, but you should take advantage of it sometimes. He loves and wants to spend money on you, but you won't let him."

"I do let him buy me stuff, I just don't ask for much."

"Well, you're the perfect wifey material." He says.
