Stefany
"Darn it!.“ I yell.
"What's wrong?" Derrick asks.
I shake my head."I just hate when Abel does that."
"Does what?"
"Hang up on me when I wasn't done talking."
Derrick laughs as he sits down on the couch next to me. "Does he do that all the time?."
"Sometimes, I swear he irks my nerves.“
Derrick laughed again. “Sounds a lot like something he would do."
"Right.“
"Did he stop by the cafe to see Alice again?“
I nod. “I don't understand why he's crazy about that girl. Aside from her being pretty, her soul is ugly.“
“He sure loves them crazy white girls.“
“I can't lie. I'm jealous of how pretty she is,"
"Abel is too hot for Alice. You would look better with him.“
I laughed even though I knew it's not true. Alice is beyond beautiful. Derrick is just a good friend.
Derrick is my best friend. He is probably the only person who understands me the most and knows me too well. We have known each other since we were in diapers, no kidding. Our moms were best friends and would hang out all the time.
“Don't let Abel hear you say that. You're going to freak him out." I said, still laughing.
A second later, we heard his voice, causing us both to look over our shoulder. Abel is standing behind us.
"Don't let me hear what?"
"Absolutely nothing." I say in response.
Abel walked over to us and plopped down between me and Derrick. "It sounded like something to me."
"It was nothing. How did you come in anyway?" I ask.
I watched as he grabbed the remote from my hand and started changing channels. "Your brother let me in."
My brother has been quiet locked up in his room, I forgot he was home.
Abel kept skipping through the channels and did not settle on any. I took the control back, and he eyed me with a look of disbelief on his face.
"Give that shit back to me." He speaks.
I held it in my other hand, waving it around. "No, you can't even stick to one channel."
"So?" He said, trying to reach for the remote.
I held it back further and higher in the air. I know he doesn't want to stand up to get the remote.
I laughed at how helpless he looked right now.
"If you want it, get it." I speak.
He tries pulling my hand down to grab."Come on, Stef.“
I can hear Derrick laugh at us. "Come on Abel, are you going to give up just like that?"
Abel narrowed his eyes his way and back at me with a smirk. He leans in toward me, his body on mine. When he throws himself in an attempt to reach the remote, it causes us both to fall off the couch.
When he landed on me, that's when he quickly held onto my arm to grab the remote. I held it tighter.
"You could either make this easy or hard.“
