Abel

The sound of faint voices wake me up, I open my eyes to find Hyghly sitting beside me on a chair.

He's focused on his phone and doesn't notice i'm awake.

I drift my eyes around the room, recognizing it's the suite I booked my stay in L.A.

Now that I'm awake, the pain hits me like a ton of bricks.

My face and back hurts, it's a reminder of what happened.

"Hy." I speak.

He looks up from his phone at me.

"Hey man, I was wondering when you were going to wake up. Abel is awake!" He yells.

I hear footsteps rushing their way over. In a flash, Cash, La Mar, Belly, Freddy, Mayne, Hawk, Sal, Manny, Henny, and Dooly crowed the room like they pulled up to my funeral or some shit.

I'll remember that getting my ass kicked is all it takes to see them all in one room.

“I'm happy you're okay nigga, but what did you do to piss someone off?“ Henny asks as he steps closer to me.

"Why is it that every time we in L.A you're trying to fight someone Abel? Last time your ass was arrested nigga." La Mar adds.

I slowly sit up, and hiss at the pain shooting up my back.

"A simple how are you feeling is all I need.“ I say in response.

"Freddy I thought you were suppose to be looking out for Abel? What happened?“ Cash asks him.

“I never imagined his life would be a threat at Stefany's house.“ Freddy says.

“Freddy is not one to blame, this was some unexpected shit. It's no one's fault.“ I speak.

Hawk shakes his head. “Who did it? You need to press charges.“

"I'm not pressing charges, I can't.“ I dismiss his suggestion quickly.

They all looked at me like i'm crazy.

“Why the fuck not?“ Hawk asks sounding irritated.

The room grew quiet and i'm not trying to be an ass. I know they're only looking out for me.

At the end of the day I make my own decisions and no one can change my mind.

“Stef's dad did the damage, and i'm not pressing charges. I stand on that.“

"At least go get checked out. I need to make sure you didn't break anything.“ Sal chimes in.

"I hate hospitals, i'm fine. Do you guys know if Stefany made it safe to her suite?" I ask.

They all look at me like I just asked the most outrageous question.

"You can't be serious? You're worried about that bitch?“ Hawk asks.

I don't know why every time one of the guys calls Stefany a bitch I get offended.

They can't seem to wrap their head around why i'm not angry with her.

"Hawk shut the fuck up! You're really pissing me off!! I asked a simple question that requires a simple answer.“

What I said causes him to storm out of the room without a word.

"Relax bro, smoke a blunt. Stefany is cool, Paul drove her to her hotel. Sal, Freddy, and I made sure of that." La Mar says.

I'm angry, frustrated and annoyed all in one.
