Stefany
I woke up to the sound of constant vibrating coming from my phone. I pick it up to take a look, and the notifications are coming from twitter.
I click on it, and it directs me to a tweet with Abel's stage name all over it.
It's coming from one of amara's followers about rumors of a girl being six months pregnant by him.
I roll my eyes as I carelessly place my phone back down. Whether it's true or just a rumor, I don't care.
I turn my head expecting to see Jermaine beside me, but instead, I'm met with a half sheet of paper.
The evidence he left behind is a reminder that I wasn't dreaming or imagining that he was here last night.
Most times, it doesn't feel real because he has such a busy life.
We don't get to see each other as often as I would like.
I pick up the paper and smile when I see his nice handwriting on it. I love the old school written note.
Catching up with the city. See you soon. Love J.
I place the note in my nightstand drawer and tidy things in the room before going into my closet for an outfit. The first shirt my eyes land on is the one I wore at the concert with Abel's face on it. It takes me back to that night and the moment we shared.
I act like our encounter was not a big deal, but in the back of my mind, I know it was.
I want to see him again, but it's for the best that we don't.
I quickly folded the shirt and threw it on the top shelf of my closet behind all my other clothes.
Today will be a long work shift, and I'm dreading it.
I scan through my closet and sigh. I have a lot of outfits and still feel like I have nothing to wear.
My phone rings, and it distracts me from my troublesome in finding an outfit.
I pick it up from the bed and answer it immediately when I see Derrick's name on the screen.
"Good morning sunshine!.“ He speaks.
I sit down on my bed. "Good morning. You're in a good mood.“
"It's a beautiful day. Why are you so low, chicka?"
I run my fingers through my hair. “It's monday and I can't find anything to wear.“
He laughs. “Bitch please, you have a closet full of clothes.“
“It's time for an upgrade.“
He smacks his lips. “An upgrade? You have clothes with tags still on them.“
“I'm just not feeling it.“
“You're going to feel it when I shove my foot up your ass if you don't stop complaining.“
We both laugh at his comment.
Talking to Derrick makes my morning a thousand times better.
He easily knows how to cheer me up on any bad day.
I trust him a hundred precent and the same applies to him when it comes to me.
I used to believe true friends don't exist until I met him.
We met through our moms who were best friends as kids, and we followed in their steps with our friendship too.
"Are you at work?“ I ask
