"Shit, I don't think I can take another day," Charlie groaned as she flopped out of bed. She walked downstairs to meet up with the other guests in the parlor, only to find a room full of zombies with heavy eye bags. Even Niffty seemed tired.
"Hi, Charlie," said Emily, who looked like she was about to pass out.
"Hey. I was gonna have us work on creating the show but I take it you guys didn't sleep well either?"
Husk groaned. "Yeah, I had an awful dream."
Angel's eyes widened. "Same here!" He was wearing pink overalls with a red heart on the front pocket, an outfit he didn't wear all too often. Everyone else nodded, agreeing that they all had nightmares.
"Huh, that's weird. I wonder why we all had nightmares last night," Charlie responded. "Anyways, how about instead of doing anything, we take it easy for today?"Judging from the groans coming from around the room, everyone agreed. "Well, looks like we're doing absolutely nothing today."
As the demons went their separate ways, Angel went up to Husk. "What are you doing today, sugar pops?" he asked.
He wasn't flirting, more nicknaming, so Husk didn't mind it. "Absolutely nothing."
"Is it okay if I join you?"
Husk was surprised. He was asking for permission to be around him instead of intruding on his personal space. Angel was growing on him. "Sure. Also, what's with the outfit?"
"You'll see. I have something I want to show you. Well, it's more of a somewhere than a something, but it means a lot to me."
Anything that is important to Angel is important to me, Husk decided. Angel had shared his deepest feelings with him and cared about him a lot, which thrilled Husk, but he knew he had to play it cool. "Alright. Where are we going?"
Angel genuinely smiled. "Let me show you." He took Husk by his fluffy paw and dragged him out the door of the hotel. They ran down the street, passing sex workers and drug addicts sinning in broad daylight. Eventually, Angel and Husk didn't want to run anymore, so they slowed down. They didn't realize they were still holding hands for a minute, and when they did, Husk awkwardly took his hand back and blushed. Angel turned the other direction and blushed, too.
After a while, Angel found where his place was. "Just this way, Husky! Ah- here we are!"
Angel entered a glass room full of plants. "Is this a greenhouse?" Husk asked, confused. Why would Angel Dust be showing him a greenhouse?
"Yeah. It's mine."
"Huh, so that's why you're wearing that."
"Yup, it's my gardening outfit.
"Why are you showing this place to me?"
"This is my favorite place in the whole world." Angel smiled as he spun around, admiring all his beloved plants. "I don't know if you know this or not, but I love gardening. I love flowers and growing spices and vegetables. It brings me peace to be around somewhere so pure and beautiful. It takes away the pain of the rest of my life."
Husk smiled. "I like that. You've got something outside of your work and drugs."
"I also like to cook."
Husk's eyes widened. "Wait, cook? What the hell do you cook? Do you have a sexy chef outfit or something?"
"I do, actually." Angel thought it was cute that Husk was so appalled. "And I like to cook Italian food. I died in New York, but I'm Italian."
The drunk cat smiled softly, careful not to overstep his boundaries, as he knew Angel hated talking about his feelings. "So, uh... how did you die?" He had wondered this for a while now, but didn't know when to ask.
