For the past miserable 24 hours, Charlie Morningstar lay in her bed in solitude. Vaggie was beginning to get worried.
Charlie was normally a morning person. She got up when Hell's fucked-up crows started their obnoxious squawking every single day. Not seeing her during her favorite hours wasn't uncommon; it never happened. Vaggie didn't know Charlie when she was younger, but she had heard stories about how even during her emo phase she was still just as addicted to the day's early hours. Vaggie knew she screwed up, but this was a whole new level.
If Vaggie's drama with Charlie wasn't enough, tensions were high with the rest of the hotel. Angel and Husk were currently MIA. This was normal enough for Angel, but Husk was seemingly always at the bar. "Why leave? I've got all I need here- booze," he always said. Niffty was acting strange. Technically, she was always acting strange, but this time, it was different. She was always energetic, happy, or murderous, but she seemed neither. Niffty was acting like she did on camera- constantly staring off into space and sort of frozen. Emily glared at Vaggie and ignored her, contradicting her sugary-sweet personality. Orchid was rarely seen. She was always hiding in her room or at work. Lastly, and weirdest of all, was the tension between Alastor and Vox. Vaggie knew their past was a touchy subject, but the longer Vox stayed, the worse things got between the two. They seemed scared of each other (Vox was more so than Al, but the feeling was mutual), and despite Vox coming in peace, there seemed to be a lot of residual funk between the two. Sometimes, they'd even go off alone together to have some mysterious conversations.
Things were quickly getting worse, and the only person whose positivity could keep them all together was Charlie.
Vaggie needed to fix things.
Charlie had taught her all about the art of apologizing, but Vaggie knew she needed something more this time. Despite Vaggie's soft spot for Charlie, she wasn't the lovey-dovey type. Vaggie needed to go to somebody for help, somebody who wasn't currently mad at her.
She had just the person in mind.

Ever since the war, Carmilla Carmine has been happy and at peace. Business was booming and things couldn't have been better, so you can imagine how annoyed she was when the young fallen angel whom she had mentored was knocking upon her doorstep.
When Vaggie first met her, Carmilla wanted nothing to do with her. She needed to know how to kill the exterminators and Carmilla was the only one who knew how to do it. Despite being reluctant to let the girl into her home at first, Vaggie proved herself in combat and the two became allies, and almost friends.
After becoming partners, Carmilla was much more open to letting her into her house. "Vaggie, come in! What brings you here?"
"I need a favor."
Carmilla paused for a second. "While I appreciate your bravery in asking one of Hell's most powerful overlords for a favor, I'm afraid you already owe me one."
"I'm pretty sure I already gave you one," Vaggie responded respectfully.
"And when was this?"
"Well, I did save your children and people, did I not?"
At this, Carmilla laughed. With just about anyone else, she'd slam the door in their face, but she had a soft spot for Vaggie. Plus, the girl made a good point! "Fine. What would you like me to do for you?"
"Well, I guess it's more of a question than a favor."
"Ask away, then."
Vaggie took a moment to collect herself. "Can we sit down for this? It's kind of hard to talk about."
