Ch. 21 A New Start

3rd POV

"NightWave!" Halo yelled upon realizing the stage she was in. Gazing up, Optimus was relieved to see that Ratchet had returned, as NightWave urgently needed medical attention.

"I needed medical attention right away, old friend" Optimus declared. Ratchet nodded and gave the signal for Optimus to take NightWave's body and set it on a medical berth in the med-bay area. In a hurry, I ran to see how NightWave was doing.

"What happened? Who did all that?" Halo questioned from the top of the platform next to the med-bay as Optimus laid her down on the bed. Gazing down at his severely injured guardian who was bleeding Energon, Halo felt anxious. He also saw that her right was missing.

"It was Starscream" Optimus replied. Halo nodded, looking down at NightWave as Optimus continued, "He tore her right wing, but not before attempting to remove her collar which sent a really serious of electric shocks through her body." Halo saw Optimus gently placed her damaged wing next to Ratchet to see if he could somehow repair.

"And what about the relic? Did you get it?" Ratchet asked, scanning NightWave's body, while Optimus shook his helm.

"I'm sorry, but I was not able to secure the relic since before I could, Starscream had managed to grab the relic" Optimus explained. Ratchet gave a nod and promptly resumed his work.

"Is NightWave gonna be alright?" Halo questioned, his eyes watering. The state of NightWave terrified him. Having witnessed the entire situation, Raf approached Halo and lightly rubbed his back.

"I have no doubt Ratchet will heal her" Raf assured Halo, "He's really good at what he does," and Halo nodded, but his worries about his companion remained. Halo believed NightWave was the Mother he never had, and seeing her died would kill him. He brushed away his tears quickly, watching as Optimus approached Halo and Raf.

"Hey, are you two okay?" Optimus asked and we both nodded. He nodded back before speaking once again.

"I saw that you three seem really happy before I entered. Is there a cause behind that? Did Wheeljack and Ratchet managed to get hold of the Iacon relic?" Optimus questioned the two young humans. Halo took a step forward and spoke up.

"Better, Optimus. With Raf's assistance Ratchet was able to install a virus into Laserbeak, which spread to Soundwave" Halo said and Raf nodded in agreement as Halo continued, "And soon we will have the whole Iacon relic data base upload from the Nemesis." Optimus gave them both a nod before asking a question.

"How about Arcee and Bumblebee?" Optimus questioned.

"Oh, they successfully retrieved the relic from Knockout and should be returning back soon" Raf said.

"And in case you were wondering about Bulkhead, Agent Fowler is guiding and helping him right now on the mission," Halo said, gesturing to Agent Fowler's position. Optimus nodded, and then they heard footsteps behind them. It was Ratchet.

"How is she?" Halo asked concerned. Ratchet let out a sigh.

"Hurt badly, but she will live" Ratchet retorted, which gave Halo a breath of relief, though it still meant that NightWave needed time to heal.

"And exactly what is her current state, Ratchet?" Optimus asked.

"Well, with the exception of a couple random miner scratches, the majority of her damage appears to be internal and resulted from a strong electric shockwave. Her wing, however, is a different story" Ratchet stated, "I was able to stop the bleeding, but I can't try to put it back till she wakes up and gets somewhat better."

"However, I did see that she had numerous recent scars. As though she had previously endured some form of torture or punishment" Ratchet added, sending a silent shock through the room.

"Does that mean that she was being tortured by the Decepticons?" Raf asked, shocked, while Ratchet sighed .

"Most likely. Although the cause of some of her scars is unknown, given that they do not appear to be from a fight, it is most likely a result of some kind of punishment" Ratchet answered, "Most of them I could easily remove and seal any new scars, but some seem to be permeameter." Halo turned to face Optimus.
