Ch. 4 Energon

NightWave POV

It was Saturday and was planning on going on a small Energon run. Last time my sensors detected a small Energon signal. It was a really small signal which was good since that meant no Autobots or Decepticons would come search for it.

": A little while ago, I encountered a weak Energon signal far away from Jasper Nevada. I was wondering if you were interested in joining me. Get out of the house for a while:" I spoke as I placed Halo's breakfast in front of him.

"Are you serious?" Halo asked excitedly. I nodded, washing the dishes and placing them away.

": Yeah, it's not a big signal so I doubt any Autobots or Decepticons will appear, but in case they do make sure to hear conceal clothes:" I said. Halo nodded before returning upstairs to prepare after eating his breakfast. Before stepping outside to my alt-mode and waiting for Halo. Five minutes later, Halo appeared, and we quickly left Jasper Nevada.

"Are my clothes good enough?" Halo questioned. I looked at Halo in my rearview mirror. As soon as we departed Jasper, I deactivated my human hologram. He was mostly dressed in black, with a surgical mask resembling the ones I use and a baseball cap.

": Looks good:" I answered. The ride was long but not as boring as it usually is since I usually go on Energon runs alone. However, this time Halo has joined me, and he always makes road rides interesting by starting to play music or by making me play silly games he calls "road games." Although I could never openly admit it, it was enjoyable.

In the past year, Halo and I have become really close. Even though sometimes it may appear like I don't care about him, I do. Heck, there are moments when I actually think of him as family.

Finally, we reached a forest that had been abandoned, and we quickly went inside. As soon as we were close to the Energon signal that I discovered two weeks ago, I transformed into my bi-pedal mode. Halo gently landed my servo down before setting him down on the ground. To ease my stiff joints, I did a few stretching exercises.

"It must feel great being back in your bi-pedal mode after being stuck in your alt-mode for a long time, right?" Halo asked. I nodded. Even though it hasn't really been that long since I was last in my bi-pedal mode, you start to miss it after spending so much of your time in your alt-mode.

": Let's hurry and get this over with before some unwelcome guests arrive:" I said as we both entered the cave. I maintained a close optic on Halo as we looked around the seemingly endless cave.

": Well, this is weird:" I spoke aloud while repeatedly checking my scanners.

"Huh, what's wrong?" Halo questioned, pausing, then turning around to face me. I sighed.

": I don't know if my scanner is working right or not, but it just keeps displaying a faith signal of Energon nearby, yet the cave is empty:" I replied as we moved into a wide space. I suddenly noticed a few Decepticon mining carts. I growled.

": Grr, let's go:" I stated as I began to walk back outside after turning around. Halo quickly ran after me.

"Are you sure? Didn't you say that your scanner displays a faith signal of Energon? Maybe there are a couple of crystals that we could keep for ourselves?" Halo suggested. I shook my helm at Halo.

": Not risking the possibility of a Decepticon or even Autobot showing up while we search for a small Energon signal that is not even worth it anymore:" I said, and Halo nodded, starting to run off the way that we came from, but suddenly I stopped when my scanner detected two life signals coming from the same way that we just came from.

": Halo, wait:" I shouted, stopping Halo from running off. I grabbed him and quickly hid behind a boulder.

I peek over the boulder as a long, dangerous silence fills the cave's air for a few seconds until the sound of heavy metal footsteps begins to come closer. My optics widened when two familiar figures appeared from the cave's opening. It was the warlord and his stupid SIC, Megatron, and Starscream. I softly growled under my breath.
