Ch. 23 School Festival

It's been a few days since I almost make a full recovery. Halo and I decided to officially join the Autobots, despite the fact that certain team members still had concerns about me, but I didn't care. I simply joined since it seemed like no matter what I do, this war will continue to pursue me regardless of where I run. 

Aside from Optimus and Ratchet, who have already shown their trust in me, the two-wheeler, Arcee, didn't seem to trust me at all, but the scout, Bumblebee, and the wrecker, Bulkhead, seemed to hold a certain amount of trust in me for the time being. As for the humans, June and I managed to speak with each other and reach a mutual understanding, which maintain our friendship despite everything that happened in the past. As for the human kids, Rafael and Miko, the human companions of Bumblebee and Bulkhead, didn't appeared to hold any issues about my trustworthiness, but Jack was a different story. He wasn't sure if he should trust me or not which was understandable with Arcee as his guardian.

My relationship with Optimus has been rather strange. I suppose I was still sort of figuring out how I felt about him specifically, or perhaps I was also having trouble expressing my feelings. I was grateful that he seemed to understand me and wasn't in a rush for an answer right away.

"Are you sure this is going to work?" the medic questioned. I folded my arms across my chest and sighed for the thousandth time today. I was assisting the medic in updating their system while assisting their research.

": Just trust me, I spent every moment of my life working under my older brother's supervision. I gained a lot of knowledge under his watch. Using these improvements and methods, discovering new Energon sources will be much easier:" I responded. He nodded but sighed.

It was Friday, and Optimus, Ratchet, and I were the only ones present at base. Bulkhead, Bumblebee, and Arcee had just left to go get their human charges. I was also planning to go, but Halo texted me earlier to let me know that he would be staying a little bit longer at school and that he would be receiving a ride from Bumblebee and Raf. I accepted it since I saw nothing wrong with it. I trust the small yellow scout.

"NightWave, what are you doing?" a familiar voice asked from behind. As the medic and I turned to look back, we were met by the one and only prime. For some reason, he seemed a little shocked and confused.

": Helping the medic:" I replied, a little puzzled because it was clear what I was doing, ": Huh, why the sudden question? Is something wrong?" I was confused since it wasn't like I was doing anything wrong.

"Nothing is wrong. I was simply surprised that you did not go to pick up Halo" He said, "I assumed you were going to the festival with him." 

": He texted me to not pick him up... wait festival?:" I started, but stopped suddenly, and asked. He gave a nod.

"He didn't tell you?" He asked, surprised, "He told me about it a few days before your woke up. He mentioned that each year the school hosts an annual festival with a different theme and the theme for this year was "parents and children." I figured he informed you because he was upset that you were unable to come since you hadn't woken up. It's today and I assumed you were there because before I told him I could attend in your place if you didn't wake up."

": Not at all. Halo did not tell me anything. I cannot comprehend why he didn't tell me this" I said with my servos clenched, wondering why Halo would withhold this information from me, "Does he not want me to come? Did I do something wrong?"

"Are you okay, NightWave?" Concerned, Optimus asked.

": Of course I'm not alright! I don't understand why did Halo not inform me of anything? I mean, I am literality that kid's Mo... GUARDIAN! He always told me to go to the events before. Have I done something wrong? Is he upset with me in some way? I don't get it:" I started to panic. Suddenly I was startled to feel a servo on my shoulder. I looked up and Optimus was staring down at me with a reassuring expression.
