"He was here

"He was here." I breathe, feeling on the metal of the escalator, figuring if I end up touching the right thing it'll trigger a vision or something. I didn't believe Derek was just dead - I couldn't. So Cora and I had come back to the abandoned mall to look for him, or clues or something, whilst Stiles, Scott, Isaac and Boyd headed to some stupid lacrosse meet, Lydia and Allison following them. The two had asked me to join them, but I had more important matters. "He was right here, I swear. Can you smell anything?"

Cora shakes her head, kneeling besides me. "Just his blood."

We then hear an object clatter above us, and I feel my heartbeat rise as I slowly rise my feet, scared to see Deucalion or another one of the Alpha's. Only it's potentially worse. Peter.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I spit toward him.

"Really Madison? Straight away with the hostility?" Peter tilts his head at me, as I ascend up the escalator stairs toward him.

"That's not an answer, Peter." I glare at him.

"I'm wondering the same as the two of you, I'm sure. Wondering where the bodies went." He tells us, as Cora joins my side. "Have you got any ideas?" His eyes meet mine.

"You think if I knew where he was, I'd be here right now?" I furrow my brows.

He shrugs. "Well, you're an Athene Noctua with a bond with him, are you not?"

I then look down, trying to see for the 100th time today if I could feel something tugging on the bond. I could only feel the slightest pull, so weak and potentially something I had just made up in my mind to keep holding out hope. But not enough to know where he was.

And so I looked back up at Peter. "I don't know where he is. But his body isn't the only one missing." I point out. Ennis' body wasn't there either. That can't be a coincidence.

"Then maybe they were carried out. Or maybe, one of them managed to find enough strength to push themselves up off the floor and walk out." Peter suggests.

"We just don't know which." Cora responds.

"But I do know where'd they go." Peter raises a brow.

I shake my head. "I'm not going anywhere with you."

Peter narrows his eyes at me. "And what if where I'm going is where Derek is?"

"Then I'll feel it, from the bond we have." I fold my arms, narrowing my eyes at him.

He lightly chuckles to himself nodding. "Your choice." He then spins and heads out the building, and his niece turns to me, her eyes widened.

"I'm gonna go with him. I'll give you my number, in case we find him. Or you do." She tells me, and I nod passing her my phone.

I reassuringly raise my brows at her. "We will find him."

She looks up at me, when she's done putting her number in, with a small nod and tight lipped smile. "I hope so."
