I run inside Derek's loft, the first thing I see being a woman holding a pole that has been struck right through Derek, Cora was stood clearly resisting the urge to run over to her brother, a muscular bald headed man stood nearby her, and another man sat on the chair right besides Derek, who I recognise instantly from being in Isaac's head.
Deucalion.
"Derek?" I breathe out and their heads all turn to me, only they don't look displeased to see me - in fact they feel relieved. I furrow my brows at the scene, moving forwards towards Derek to try to push the woman away, only she begins to the twist the pole causing Derek to call out in pain and I stop in my step.
"Madison, get out of here now." He pants, trying to not appear in pain as I stand feeling helpless, looking to Cora who shares the same look.
"No, Madison. Stay. We've been expecting you." Deucalion smirks, as he raises to his feet, looking at me and I try not to look scared. I furrow my eyebrows. Expecting me? What was he talking about?
I swallow harshly. "What?"
"You're his noctua, aren't you?" He answers, and I feel a pang in my stomach. How did he know what I was? "He's your Alpha, so you can sense when he's in danger. It's the only way we could guarantee your arrival."
Is that why they'd come to Beacon Hills? To take me? To get me to join their pack? Derek had said people would try and take me to use me for my powers, but I hadn't figured it would be this soon. It made sense now why Aiden had tried getting close to me - to eventually trick me into the pack. But Derek wasn't even my Alpha anymore, so why the hell could I 'sense' him being in danger? Was it because we'd kissed? Had that reignited something more than I'd realised?
"Alright, well you got my arrival, now let him go." I tell him but he begins to smirk.
"I'm sure you'd like that. But first, I have to tell you why I'm here." He begins, as I gulp, my worried eyes looking at Derek, before back at the man. All I want to do is rush over to him and help, but all I can do is just stand and listen.
"Now, you see, the one problem with being in an Alpha pack is everyone wants to make the decisions. Me? I'm more about discovering new talents. Like your boyfriend, for example. But more so - you." He stands walking towards me and I look up at him with narrowed eyes.
"Too bad, I'm not interested." I spit, realising correcting him on Derek being my boyfriend wasn't really important right now.
"Oh, I know you're not. Not yet anyways. Which is why we need him." He points at Derek.
"I'm not killing my pack." Derek coughs, weakly.
"You're both so quick to judge, you haven't even heard my pitch - I only want you to kill one of them. Do that, and I won't have to ask you to kill the others. You'll do it on your own. I did it. Ennis did. Kali did." The man continues, the bitch holding a pole in my boyfriend having a name now. "Tell him what it's like, Kali, to kill one of your own."
