Shuichi's POV (3rd person):
It's been a while since Shuichi didn't have that much fun, he was just laughing and talking freely with Kokichi without fearing to be judged. He even discovered that Kokichi also liked Danganronpa! And that made him really happy as they both talked about it non-stop and sent each other memes everytime they were apart from each other and decided to text each other.
It's been days since they became friends and it seemed that everybody else noticed it too, Shuichi kept noticing Kokichi's other friends trying to bring him away but Kokichi always refused and kept spending time with Shuichi. It was the first time that he felt truly cared for by a friend, and it usually always made him emotional everytime he thought about that. But he always did his best to not start breaking down in front of Kokichi for nothing even though Kokichi always notices when Shuichi holds in his tears.
It was another day of chatting when Kokichi and Shuichi soon notice Kokichi's other friends coming over while giving them a judgemental look, especially to Shuichi, making him hide his face under his cap.
Kokichi sighed and looked at his friends with a serious glare. "What do you want now?"
"You completely gave us up for this danganronpa freak, and we're here to take you back." a ginger boy spoke up, he looked pretty strong as he walked up.
"And why would I do that? I don't care about my reputation, I never cared about that. So you can spread any rumors you want, I don't give a fuck." Kokichi declared, crossing his arms angrily while the taller guy scoffed.
"You're really taking this weirdo's side? and what now, you're gonna say that you like Danganronpa too?" He said, expecting Kokichi to deny it, but oh was he wrong.
"What's wrong with that? It's actually my favorite show, and I'm not scared to admit it. Atleast I don't go chasing after girls to save my ego." the short purple haired answers as he rolled his eyes.
The ginger guy furrowed his eyebrows as the others looked as insulted as him. "yeah, yeah, you're saying that because you don't need to talk to them to get girls, you got so much opportunities and yet you ruin them by-"
"You wanna know why I ruin those shitty chances?" Kokichi cuts him off, getting others' attention before taking a deep breath and starting to talk again. "Because I don't like girls, that's simple. I'm gay, that's why I don't care about girls."
Suddently, the whole room fell silent for whole minutes before the guy in front of Kokichi started laughing hysterically.
"I can't believe it! We've been friends with a faggot! Do you believe it guys?" The others answered by laughing aswell.
Shuichi suddently started feeling a... familiar feeling, his hands balled up into fists as his vision got blurry from... rage.
Why was he angry? They weren't making fun of him, they were making fun of Kokichi.
But there's one thing he hates more than anything, it's people making fun of his friends.
The crowd's words were slowly blurred out as Shuichi's mind went hazy...
He needed to calm down...
He needed to calm down...
He needed to calm down...
He needed to calm down...
He needed to-
THUMP
...
"Huh?"
Shuichi reopened his eyes, realizing that he was panting for some reasons. As soon as he looked down, he saw the same orange haired asshole on the ground looking up at Shuichi with widened eyes as his nose was bleeding, everyone around them was gasping and were quiet.
Shuichi's own eyes widened in fear as he realized the situation, Shuichi started trembling as he slowly started backing off before being stopped by a circle of students blocking his way, staring at him...
Shuichi started panicking in realization that he was the center of attention, his heart pounding as he looked around to find Kokichi, Kokichi was outside of the circle, doing his best to intervene but he was too short to do that.
Soon, the crowd of students started smiling in amusement, the smiles looking disturbing to Shuichi's point of view before his worst nightmare started to happen...
They all started to chant: "Fight! Fight! Fight!" Making Shuichi panic even more as he saw the other guy slowly get up and glare at Shuichi.
Shuichi's legs felt weak, unable to react to anything as he soon saw his encounter dashing towards him.
What was he gonna do? He wasn't angry anymore, he hates fights, he can't escape.
He needs to esca-
His train of thoughts was soon cut off by a punch to his face, making him lose balance and fall, he felt someone stomp angrily on his stomach, making him gasp out in pain.
Everything happened so fast, he was hurt everywhere, his head was slammed to the floor, his nose was punched until it bled...
Shuichi had enough. He wanted it to make it stop, it hurted, it hurted so much.
But the only thing Shuichi could do was gasp out in pain and letting out sobs of distress.
He tried useless and countless times to escape until... He finally felt the weight over him disapear.
As he weakly looked up, he saw a teacher scolding the boy who had beaten him up before a flash of purple arrived in his view...
Kokichi.
He looked worried, really worried. And it seemed that he was saying something.
but everything was blurry, all he could hear was muffled noises.
And soon...
He blacked out.
...
...
...
Ding Dong Dong Ding
A... bell?
Oh, the school bell.
Shuichi slowly opened his eyes to the noise, looking at his surroundings.
He was at the nursery and the nurse seems to be talking with... His parents, they looked really worried.
Shuichi tried to move to join them but he soon felt pain all over his body and he hissed in pain.
He felt heavier than usual...
Shuichi curiously looked at the source of the heaviness, seeing Kokichi sitting on a chair asleep, his head resting on Shuichi's chest.
The blue haired boy softly smiled with a slight blush as he saw Kokichi peacefully asleep.
After a few minutes, Kokichi woke up and Shuichi's parents were talking to their son, telling him he would have some days off of school while he heals.
Kokichi looked a bit disapointed that they wouldn't see each other for days, so Shuichi decided to lift his mood.
"Don't worry Kokichi... you're still welcome in my house if you want to see me." Kokichi smiled at Shuichi's words before carefully hugging his friend.
Both kept hugging for a few minutes before Shuichi had to leave with his parents.
He kindly waved at his friend and soon exited with his parents carrying his stuff and supporting him to help him walk.
This day sure was a long day, and he hoped that it would be the only day where he would live this.
And he hoped to see Kokichi again soon.
