I sipped my drink, and Sebastian was hesitating on whether he should pour himself some more.

An older lady, likely in her 70s, with her silver hair styled in an elaborate coiffure, took a place in front of us. Her lean tall figure was wearing the most refined dark green silk gown I had ever seen, adorned with emerald jewellery.

"Madam Gaunt, it is a pleasure to see you," Sebastian bowed politely, taking the lady's hand and placing a respectful kiss.

"Mr. Sallow, always a gentleman," she tenderly smiled at him.

"You must be Ominis' grandmother, Madam Gaunt. It is an honour to be here today, I really appreciate the kind invitation." I motioned a light bow, and for a moment I felt stupid. I had no idea how to greet people formally.

"How charming. It's always delightful to see young people with such impeccable manners," the lady replied with a welcoming smile. However, her lips briefly narrowed - I noticed her eyes observing Sebastian's hand holding mine. I flinched by reflex, bringing my hand back to myself.

"Mr. Sallow dear, I have a special guest tonight that I presume you would like to make acquaintance with. You see there, the gentleman who is speaking to Mr. Niklas Rosier? That would be Mr Grilco Wuthering, the current Head Curse-Breaker at Gringotts. Ominis mentioned that you take an interest in that career, yes?"

"That is correct, Madam." Sebastian's eyebrows raised and his eyes beamed. "I will most definitely greet him right away. Thank you, I really appreciate the indication. Carolyn," he then turned to me, "Will you excuse me for a moment?"

"Please do not concern yourself with us, dear. We shall be perfectly content remaining here, getting acquainted with each other," Madam Gaunt gracefully replied.

Sebastian nodded and excused himself, straightening his blazer and brushing his hair back into place with his fingers as he walked away. I didn't get the chance to say anything, but on the inside, I was excitedly rooting for him.

"Madam, may Viper fetch you another drink?" The little elf appeared next to us.

"Viper, do bring me more of the wine, please," Madam Gaunt graciously requested, "and what is it that you are drinking, Miss Morgan? Firewhisky? Dreadful. Viper, please bring this young lady a glass of the same refined French wine I am having."

"Miss Morgan. What a delight it is to welcome you here tonight. My dear Ominis only speaks highly of you. I must tell you, he has always been my favourite grandson. Such a precious gentleman."

Madam Gaunt was the polar opposite of the energy that Auguro and Marvolo emanated. Honestly, my first impression was that her composure and poise were the same as Ominis' nature. It all made sense to me now, he definitely inherited his traits from his grandmother.
