Sirona Ryan - Manager, The Three Broomsticks
My jaw dropped as I rolled the parchment open.
Three guests.
I had anxiously waited for any information or communication from Ominis, but the last thing I expected to receive was a reservation for dinner at the Three Broomsticks.
I had to find Sebastian.
I left the Gryffindor Common room, finding nothing but empty halls - naturally, on a sunny Saturday, most students could be found enjoying the day outside.
As I sprinted through the empty halls of Hogwarts, my footsteps echoed loudly against the stone steps of the spiral staircase of the Gryffindor Tower, with my erratic heartbeat thudding in my ears, outrunning my hurried pace.
I crossed the suspended bridge and reached the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower, where I caught the murmured grumbles of portraits as I passed. Though Sebastian was likely to be hanging around at that location, he was nowhere to be seen.
Then, it occurred to me: if he happened to be also looking for me, I knew exactly where to find him.
Once outside, at the Transfiguration Courtyard, I spotted the tousled Slytherin head in the distance, fumbling around with the same desperation I had.
"Sebastian!!" I yelled, running in his direction, noticing he had a similar-shaped parchment in hand.
"Wait, did you get one too??" I panted as we finally stood before each other, pressing my palms on my knees. Running was a terrible idea - the thrill of the moment made me forget about the damned injury, and as I stood there, it was taking its toll.
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Yes... Does yours also say that there is a reservation for tonight at the Three Broomsticks? Wait-" His eyes darted up and down. "Are you in pain?"
I straightened up and huffed. "Pain? Of course not. And yes, my letter is exactly the same..."
"This is definitely a trap...," He mused, pacing impatiently. "The Gaunts want to catch us unguarded outside school... This is not safe. We must not go."
"But Sebastian," I stuttered. "It is signed by Sirona herself. We can trust her! It must be Ominis... We have to go. He needs us."
His nose twitched at the mention of our friend's name. "You must understand how I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that you are eager to 'save' him. After everything he put you through."
