It was Monday, but my head and heart were still hooked on the weekend.

Herbology and Potions went by in the blink of an eye while I reminisced about Sebastian's soft lips, his addictive laugh, his gentle eyes... And, well... The warmth of being in his arms, fitting perfectly in his lap, his daring hands, his scorching touch...

A bead of sweat formed at the nape of my neck and I felt it rolling down my back. I was mentally and physically under his spell.

From the moment I woke up until I went to bed, every inch of my skin and flesh craved him. Every time the thoughts of him flooded my mind, burning heat pooled between my legs. I wanted more. I wanted so much more. I wanted him to do a lot of things to me, things that I had never given much thought to before. Things that the girls would talk about in our dormitory, but I never really understood the appeal. But thinking about those things with Sebastian... Merlin.

"There you are," Speaking of the devil, he had just looped his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to press a soft kiss on my temple, as soon as the Potions class ended.

I looked around for prying eyes, feeling safe enough to lean into him, basking in his bright smile. "Where can we go now?"

"Ugh. I wanted to spend some time with you right now more than anything, but I promised Phineas that I'd help him catch up on Ancient Runes..." He snorted before whispering, "He's a great guy, but academic knowledge isn't his forte..."

I remembered their brief talk in the Undercroft when Ominis returned - something about a fight and putting it behind them. Realising I had no idea what that was about, I lowered my voice and asked, "Whatever happened between the two of you before summer?"

He sighed, looking around to make sure that no one would listen to us talking about Ominis and Phineas' secret relationship. "Do you remember when I told you that I, uh... kind of punched Ominis on that tragic night? Phineas came along in his defence and said some nasty shite to me. I can't blame him though; he protects Ominis with the same fierceness I'd protect you."

My eyes rolled back involuntarily. Boys.

"Just to make it clear, I strongly disapprove of this 'fierceness' you both have in common," Ominis huffed next to us, startling Sebastian and me. Somehow, he always managed to silently appear from nowhere, like an omniscient being.

Sebastian chuckled. "Ominis and Carolyn, the two of you have a type, after all: intense men. Is that a Gaunt thing? Yuck. Well... No need to answer. I'll be on my way." He pecked my lips with a smile and left.

Ominis sighed with a hint of a smirk. "In my defence, I don't have a type. The fact that my best friend and my, uh... and Phineas have a similar nature is merely a coincidence."

"Having people around who are willing to protect you is not a coincidence, Ominis... It is wise, at least. And I like to think that I share the same wisdom..." I poked his waist with my elbow, then picked up my pile of books.
