"Slytherin's wand remained inactive following Gormlaith Gaunt's command in Parseltongue. Isolt could not speak the language, but, in any case, she no longer wanted to touch the wand that was the last relic of her unhappy childhood. She and her nomaj husband James buried it outside the grounds. Within a year an unknown species of snakewood tree had grown out of the earth on the spot where the wand was buried. It resisted all attempts to prune or kill it, but after several years the leaves were found to contain powerful medicinal properties. This tree seemed testament to the fact that Slytherin's wand, like his scattered descendants, encompassed both noble and ignoble. The very best of him seemed to have migrated to America." Pottermore

I gasped as I caught my breath, finding myself back in the Gaunt residence. That was the 4th time I awakened startled and disoriented on that day. I just wished it would stop.
Ominis and Sebastian sat on each of my sides, and they noticed I was back from the memory dive.
"What was it? What did you see?" Sebastian broke the silence first. His tone was sharp but his hands gently rubbed up and down my back. He didn't look only worried, but also angry. "Ominis, whatever is there in this bloody diary??"
I was genuinely confused about what it even had to do with anything, but at the same time, I knew how delicate it was for Ominis to share his family's evil doings.
"Ominis," I started speaking. "At this point, I am aware of how insidious the Gaunt's have been. Gormlaith's obsession with pure blood and her doings were wicked, and I feel terrible for you carrying such a burden, as always. But, please forgive me - I don't really follow where this story explains why your grandmother was dosing me with your Amortentia...!!" I said nervously.
Ominis nodded. "Besides my ancestor Gormlaith Gaunt, who else did you see, Carolyn?"
I stood up and crossed my arms in front of my chest, remembering the flashes of smoke. "There was also her niece, Isolt Sayre... She rebelled against the Gaunt's obsession with pure-blood, fled and was one of the founders of Ilvermorny in America."
Sebastian stood up in a single movement, whispering the school's name to himself as his eyes widened. "Ominis, were your ancestors the founders of...?"
Ominis nodded silently.
My brows knitted together. "I don't follow. Yes, I've been told many times that I should have attended Ilvermorny rather than Hogwarts. It still doesn't explain anything."
Sebastian shook his head slowly, furrowing his eyebrows. "Ominis, is this why you brought that up before showing her the diary... Don't tell me that your family is also involved with her Hogwarts admission..."
