I check my phone.

1:43pm.

Fuck, I've overslept again. I made a promise to study today, but now I have so much to do, so I'll have to try and fit a few hours in to catch up with my work.

I get up out of bed, my phone still in my hand. I walk over to the bathroom, replying to all of my messages as I enter the cool, white room with a seashell scent lingering in the atmosphere, and an open window gently blowing fresh air through the space.

As I place myself on the toilet seat, I jolt a little. The toilet seat is freezing cold, but that isn't the reason I jumped.

I see a text from a random number.

Unknown: heyyy aer, how r u ??????

Aer? Who is this guy, and why is he calling me Aer..?

I reply back.

Aera: who's this

I set aside my phone as I wash my hands. Almost instantly, the mystery number texts me back. I look down at my lit phone.

Unknown: ah I see. u did delete my number  : (

Then it clicks in my head. It's Hyunjin. Of course it's Hyunjin. Why is he texting me again? I thought yesterday was just a one-off coincidental meet up.

Aera: oh hi hyunjin srry forgot i deleted u.  anyways why u text??

I walk downstairs to the kitchen, where I make myself some porridge. I hear my phone ping again, whilst I grab the milk out of the fridge, and pour it into the uncooked oats.

As I put the porridge into the microwave, I pick up my phone again and answer Hyunjin's texts.

Hyunjin: i just wanted to say hi, see how u were after yesterday lol . getting chased by a creepy guy doesn't sound fun

Aera: yeah it wasn't too fun, im alr thoughh

Hyunjin: that's good then. anyways, wyd rn?

I leave him for a second whilst I get my porridge out of the microwave, stir it and then drizzle a bit of golden syrup on top before sitting down to eat it.

Aera: im just having breakfast rn, u?

Hyunjin: with felix atm im helping him with hw as he's dumb asfffff

I take a big bite of my porridge. The flavours of golden syrup and oats together make my heart overjoyed.

Aera: lmaooo. i was supposed to revise today but ive overslept sooo probs not anymore

Hyunjin: what do u have to revise ??

Aera: biology. i HATE biology.

I take a sigh as haunting memories of biology class flood my mind. How I despise biology.

Hyunjin: oh well this is ur lucky day because bio is my fav subject. i can come over tdy to help u if u wanna ??

I stare at the message for a minute or so. I guess having a bit of tutoring wouldn't hurt, but from him??

But then again.. it's Hyunjin. The same guy that caused me so much depression and pain.

Oh well, I guess if he's going to help me with biology then it's a win for me.

Aera: okay sure! what abt 5?

As soon as my finger presses send, i regret it immediately. Hyunjin responds in less than a second.

Hyunjin: alrrr great see u thenn

Oh my god. What is wrong with me? Why did I accept his offer? I am soo stupid, I don't want Hyunjin at my house, let alone tutoring me!!

I wash up the empty bowl quickly and walk back up to my room to get dressed, regret rushing around my body. I am not excited for Hyunjin to come over.
