You don't want it?

Minji turned around and was just as surprised as I was. She let go of my hand and discreetly leaned back on her knees.

"I... I'll be right back," she stood up and walked towards the play area. Danielle was still stunned. Hanni approached and whispered something in her ear; Danielle nodded, and Hanni left. I raised my eyebrows and gave my friend a sideways smile.

"I won," I mouthed without making a sound.

"That's not true," she laughed, shaking her head.

"What? What do you mean it's not?" I said, getting flustered. Danielle walked over to me and sat down where Minji had been.

"But you and Hanni just saw us," I said, lowering my voice. Minji couldn't find out for anything in the world because I hadn't reached my main goal yet: Eunchae.

"No, sweetie," she clicked her tongue. "We agreed it would be at least an 'I love you' in public."

"Are you backing out now, Danielle Marsh?" I asserted, my gaze firm; I had won, period.

"No," she laughed. "I never said that, but we agreed that just a kiss wouldn't be enough. You could have done that without even talking to her!" she was right.

"No, Dani, that's not fair," I protested.

"Yes, it is fair. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to me."

"You're being silly, Danielle," I said, pushing her playfully.

"You more," she took my cheeks in her hands and pulled me closer for a kiss on the forehead. "I think we're bothering your bad girl," she smiled, furrowing her brow.

"Count on it," I rolled my eyes.

"Well, I'll go..." she said, pointing to where Hanni was.

"Sure, go with her. There's no one else left for you except her," I said, pretending to be offended.

"Well, I don't know why you're complaining when I don't think you remember me very often either," she raised an eyebrow.

"You're mistaken," I crossed my arms, really missing her. "Things aren't going well at home," I mentioned casually, not wanting to burden her with my problems.

"Your mom?"

"Who else?" I asked, laughing ironically.

"Why didn't you call me? I would have picked you up," she furrowed her brow again.

"No," I laughed. "Don't worry, it's the same old stuff," I sighed. "Alright, go on!" I pointed with my chin to where Hanni was waiting at a table.

"Call me," she made a phone gesture with her hand and winked at me; it was impossible not to laugh. She hugged me, gave me another kiss on the forehead, and left.

I watched them walk towards the counter. Who did that cashier think she was? Now even with Danielle! What else was missing now? Would Eunchae come in and also stare her down? I laughed noticing Hanni's annoyed face. Point for her, she was taking care of my friend.

"Who was she?" I was surprised to see Sihyun on my right.

"She's my best friend," I replied, smiling.

"Ah," he said, looking at them. "And her?"

"She's her girlfriend," I answered, and he furrowed his brow. Everyone was doing that today! He widened his eyes as if remembering something and covered his mouth with his hands. A mischievous giggle escaped him.

"Haerin? You and Min are girlfriends?" that question again.

"Hey," I said, laughing. "Why do you ask that?" I started tickling him, and he began to squirm in the chair.

"Because," he said, pausing to catch his breath after my tickles. "Because I saw you guys give each other a little kiss here," he said, pointing to his lips, and a reddish tone took over his cheeks. This time, I put my hands to my mouth pretending to be surprised.

"No, little one," I said, looking down genuinely embarrassed. "Min and I are not girlfriends," he pouted his lower lip out in sadness.

"Why... did you kiss then?" the crimson tone returned to his face. Damn it! What was I going to tell him now? "Don't you love her?" Why did he have to be so direct?

"I... I do love her," No! I couldn't have said that! "But she and I are just friends, and what you saw was something we shouldn't have done," I had no idea what to say! Where the hell was Minji!

"Oh," he said again with a sad look. "Minji says you're pretty," WHAT?

"Really?" I asked, surprised.

"Yes," he smiled. "She says you're very pretty," okay, I was shocked. Minji arrived at our side along with Jongin.

"What are you guys talking about?" she asked, picking up the little one who opened her eyes wide.

"Nothing, Min, just best friend stuff," Sihyun laughed and hugged his sister, burying his face in her neck.
