Just for you.

Tuesday. I got out of my car feeling disheartened. Not only because the bet with Danielle was bothering me, but also because if Minji found out, I couldn't even imagine how she would react. I had to end this right now.

I looked up, and there she was, leaning against the trunk of her car. She was wearing camo pants and a tight black shirt that showed off her well-defined abs and part of her belly button, leaving me breathless.

"Hey," I heard her call out. "Hey," she called again, but I didn't turn around. I could hear her steps behind me. "I'm talking to you," she said, grabbing my arm to stop me from walking.

"Excuse me, but I don't recall my name being 'Hey,'" I turned to face her. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be suspended."

"I came for you," she said seriously.

"For me?" I laughed.

"Yes, it's kind of like a kidnapping," she laughed too, and in the distance, the bell rang, signaling the start of first period.

"No!" I said, annoyed. "You're late again, Kang," I mimicked Mr. Hoffman's voice.

"Late?" She approached, and I stepped back. "More like... Kang, absent," she quickly picked me up and placed me over her shoulder.

"What's wrong with you? Put me down!" I shouted, kicking my legs and trying to cover myself. Obviously, she ignored my shouts and put me in the car.

"Haerin!" Those shouts startled me. I turned, and it was Sihyun and Jongin, running at full speed, calling my name.

"What are you two doing here?" I asked, surprised.

"They skipped classes," I covered my mouth as if it were the worst thing in the world; they both laughed, and Minji got into the driver's seat.

"Of course, since you're suspended, no one else will go to class," I reproached her.

"Skipping one class won't hurt you, besides..." She stopped herself.

"Besides what?" I asked, but she didn't answer, just started the car.

"Why is everyone dressed like this?" Like Minji, Sihyun and Jongin were also wearing camo pants and matching shirts.

"Because we're going to..."

"Shh!" Minji and Jongin interrupted Sihyun before he could tell me where they were taking me.

After twenty minutes of driving, Minji finally stopped and parked.

"We're here," she said after turning off the car.

"Great," I replied with annoyance. I opened the car door and got out. "What is this?"

I don't know if I was surprised or scared. It was a huge dirt track, with at most six parked cars. There was a large green mesh that prevented us from seeing what was on the other side. Nobody answered me; they just laughed knowingly until Minji finally walked around the car and approached me.

"We're playing Paintball," she put her arm around my shoulder and closed the car door.

"What?" I laughed bitterly. "You must be kidding, right?" I had never played and had zero interest.

"No."

"Come on, it'll be fun," Sihyun said, taking my hand and making me run towards the green mesh.

It was ridiculous that the little one was excited, and I was practically terrified.

"No, Minji," I called out. "I'll just watch you guys play," I smiled, "from the car," she laughed.

"You're a coward, Kang," she teased. "Sihyun is six and loves it," I glared at her.

"Shut up," I hit her. "And look..." I pointed at my heels. "I'm not getting this dress dirty," I pointed at it while looking at her intensely.

"Oh, right, I almost forgot..." She turned around and ran back to the car, opened the trunk, and pulled out some sneakers of mine and what seemed like clothes.

"Where did you get these?" I asked, surprised.

"We made a stop at your house, luckily your mom wasn't there," she smiled, "and we told the girl we were sent by you to get clothes," she handed the things to me, "So you have no excuses now." I took the sneakers and clothes. "Anyway, they'll lend you gear here." "What?" "Let's go," she took my hand and intertwined our fingers, then practically dragged me along.
