I turned in bed, lying on my back, my gaze lost in the ceiling. All night and all day, I couldn't stop thinking about Minji; when I was with her, I didn't care what others thought of me. She was all that mattered, and the worst part was that I was more than aware that Kim Minji drove me crazy.
My phone started vibrating, and since I had it in my shorts, I jumped a bit. "Bitter" the screen said, and a smile spread across my face.
"Hi," I greeted happily.
"Hey," she replied. "Are you ready?"
"Ready? For what?" I asked, not understanding.
"Aren't you going to the game?"
"I told you I wouldn't go without you," I said, sitting up in bed.
"Get ready; I'm outside your house."
"What?" I almost shouted. "Why didn't you call me earlier, Minji?" I complained.
"Because I hadn't planned on going. Get changed," she repeated.
"Alright, I won't be long," I lied, knowing full well that I would take my time.
"Wait," she said before hanging up. "No dresses, please," she added. I sighed in annoyance and hung up.
I quickly went to my closet and grabbed a ripped pair of shorts, a black t-shirt, and a pair of boots of the same color, then changed. I tied my hair into a high ponytail, applied some black eyeliner and lipstick, and rushed downstairs. I went outside and was surprised to see her on a motorcycle.
"Ready?" she asked, and I nodded, tilting my head to indicate that I would join her.
"Are we going on that?" I asked in shock.
"Yes," she replied with a smile. "Don't tell me you're afraid of it too."
"Of course not!" I said excitedly and ran to her side, admiring the sleek black motorcycle.
"Here," she handed me a black helmet, and I rolled my eyes, realizing I had to undo my ponytail.
"I like your hair down," she said, running her hand over my waist and pulling me closer to her. She was too cool to give compliments, so when she did, you had to thank her very well. Still holding the helmet, I wrapped my arms around her neck and kissed her. She kissed me with exquisite tenderness. Her delicious lips fit perfectly with mine, and her hand moved to my cheek.
"...What if we don't go," she said between kisses.
"Are you crazy?" I asked, laughing. "I won't miss this motorcycle ride." I gave her another kiss on her now shiny lips. "Wait..." I laughed and used my thumb to remove the lipstick residue from her lips. "Now I'm ready." I put on the helmet and leaned against her shoulder to get on. Within seconds, I was securely attached to her body.
"Aren't you tired?" Minji asked as we climbed the steps, looking for a place to sit.
"It's worse if we stay standing below," I said, turning to her.
"That's not what I mean," she laughed. "I mean, aren't you tired of this? Of everyone watching what you do, of entering a place and everyone turning to look at you?" She gestured to the empty upper rows. "I know you love attention," she answered herself. "But do you really not get tired of it?"
"I didn't before," I said, sitting down beside her. "Now, not really," I said, and she burst out laughing. "But it's not something that interests me anymore," I added truthfully. "Well... except for one in particular." She looked at me intensely, and I felt myself drowning in the depth of her eyes.
"Really? Whose?" my mind screamed Eunchae.
"Yours," my heart took over my mouth. She shook her head and looked back at the field. "Even if it doesn't matter to you," I whispered, hurt by being ignored; I had told her that she was all that mattered to me, and she didn't pay attention.
