It started with basic movements, extremely simple ones. I just watched her and tried to memorize the routine. Eventually, she began to add slightly more complicated steps. She finished with a rhetorical smile. I burst out laughing and stood beside her. She started the routine again, and it took me no more than three seconds to catch up. The frustration on Garam's face was immediate, indicating that I was doing well. She stopped, and I continued until the end.

"Am I in?" I asked when I finished.

"Come on, Haerin!" I turned towards the stands, where Chaewon had shouted, and I started laughing along with the girls next to her.

"Yes, it was nice," Garam said, crossing her arms. "But sorry, honey, you don't make the cut." She waved her hand as if saying goodbye.

"I understand you're afraid I might become better than you," I teased her to try to get her to let me in.

"Better than me?" She feigned indignation. "Sure, whatever," she added sarcastically.

"Garam, you're not the only one who can decide who gets in and who doesn't," I turned to the cheerleading coach behind me. "She's good, why don't you want her in?"

"Yeah, Garam, why don't you want me in?" I added.

"We all agree on this decision; Haerin doesn't get in," Garam affirmed confidently. "Right, girls?" she asked them with a look that said, "Contradict me, and you're dead." They all looked at each other, agreeing on what to say, except for her clones, who automatically chorused, "Yes, we agree."

"No..." we all turned towards the brave girl's voice who contradicted Garam. "She's good and should be in," Hanni opined.

"Shut up, okay? You're new; you don't have a say here," Garam said angrily.

"Miss Kim Garam!" the coach reprimanded her.

"I also think she should be in," a blonde chimed in, and after that, more votes were heard in my favor.

"Then there's nothing more to say; Kang is in," the coach announced and turned away.

"But Jessica..." Garam followed after glaring at me, and I just smiled victoriously. Garam walked away in frustration behind the coach.

"Thanks, girls," I said seriously. I had to thank them, but I also didn't want them to think I was trying to socialize with them. "Thanks, Hanni."

"It's nothing, you're good and deserved to get in," she said casually. I approached the stands and grabbed my bag.

I walked a bit away from the cheerleaders and glanced back at the stands, where everyone was waiting for news. With a huge smile, I gave them both thumbs up, indicating that I got in. They all stood up and cheered loudly, "Hey!" They all ran down to my side.

"Why do you want to be a cheerleader?" Chaewon asked.

"Why are you asking, idiot? You're the one who gave her the idea," Dani scolded.

"I just mentioned it because of her cheer during the game."

"But... Do you have a plan or something?" Kazuha asked while Danielle just shook her head.

"Something like that..." I smiled to myself.

As we walked towards the parking lot, Garam stood in front of us, arms crossed with her huge blue and white pompoms.

"Where do you think you're going, honey?" she asked hypocritically.

"To my house," I replied in the same tone.

"Weren't you the one who wanted to be a cheerleader? Now you have to train," she pointed out.

"Now?" I asked with disgust; I really didn't feel like staying.
