We kept answering the guide, but the silence was killing me until I finally got her to talk. I asked her questions, and she answered them, but she refused to ask me anything in return. Her favorite color was yellow, although she didn't use it much. She's openly lesbian, her favorite food is pizza, she can play the guitar, she works at the music store from Monday to Sunday, and her friend is covering for her while she finishes working with me. The tall, dark-haired girl at the record store that Sihyun calls "Jimin" also works there and gets along very well with the kids. She doesn't have a girlfriend, and she detests me. Although the latter is not something I didn't know, she reminded me anyway.
"Come on, ask me something now!" I insisted, but she kept refusing to ask me.
"No."
"Why not?" I said in a childish voice. "There must be something you want to ask me." I smiled as much as my cheeks would allow.
"I already told you no," she said. God, this girl is so difficult.
"Come on," I asked again. "Just one."
"Will you be quiet if I ask you?" she finally responded.
"Yes, yes, yes," I quickly replied.
"Done," she smiled and turned back to the guide.
"What's done?" I asked, not understanding.
"I already asked you if you would be quiet if I asked, and you answered. Don't bother me anymore," she exlained without looking at me.
"How funny," I said sarcastically.
"Are you and Danielle Marsh a thing?" she broke the silence that had once again taken over the room.
"A thing?" I asked, not quite sure what she meant.
"Like, are you dating or have you dated?" she clarified.
"We're not and won't be," I explained, not taking my eyes off her. "She's my best friend, like a sister." I smiled unconsciously. "Why? Are you jealous?" I asked playfully, having endured her "Are you jealous" comments when I asked about Jimin.
"You wish," she laughed.
"Hey, you're laughing," I said triumphantly.
I grabbed my bag; it was already eight, so we would go pick up Sihyun and Jongin and then drop me off at home.
"Minji?" I said in the car.
"What?"
"You're supposed to say 'Yes?' rude girl," I laughed.
"I'm sorry, Ms. 'I'm the rudest person in the world.'"
"I wanted to ask you something," I said somewhat intimidated by the question I was about to ask.
"Then ask," she said confidently, focusing on the road.
"Did... Did your parents pass away?"
"Why do you ask that?" Her face, which had started to look more peaceful, turned completely hard.
"Well done, Kang," I scolded myself.
"And... I...," I stuttered nervously under her fixed gaze. "It's just that Sihyun mentioned something like that." I didn't even know what to say anymore.
She turned her gaze back to the road, focusing on driving.
"I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable with that question," I apologized, as I, better than anyone, knew what it was like to talk about that topic.
In silence, we arrived at the party hall where we had left the little one hours earlier. She parked, and she was about to get out, but I took her arm, preventing her from getting out.
"Can I go get her?" I pleaded. She rolled her eyes and closed the door, settling back into her seat. "Thank you!" I said with a huge smile. I got out quickly and walked to the door of the children's hall.
The event hall was decorated with pink and white balloons, as well as small princess ornaments, very cute.
There were many boys and girls running around; I couldn't find Sihyun.
"Hello," a blonde lady with green eyes greeted me with a big smile.
"Hi," I replied to her greeting. "I'm here for Kim Sihyun, but I can't see her," I informed her, squinting my eyes trying to find her.
"Oh, right," but what an overly sweet smile that woman had. "Wait, I'll go find her," she turned around and headed towards where all the kids were.
"Where is she?" I heard Minji's voice behind me, so I immediately turned and looked up.
"They went to get her," I smiled and approached her.
"Why did you want to come get her?" she asked as her gaze wandered around the pink place.
"I don't know..." I got closer and wrapped my arms around her.
"What are you doing?" she asked, taking a step back.
"They're called hugs, Minji," I said plainly. "I don't know if you're familiar with them." She rolled her eyes.
"Yes, I know what they are, but why are you doing it?" She backed away again, trying to free herself from my hug, but she couldn't.
"Why not?" My chin was resting on her chest so I could see her.
"Minji?" a feminine voice sounded behind me.
