She promised she would be here.

I got in the car and sped off, making the tires screech. I didn't know what it was—sadness, anger, or disappointment. Maybe a bit of all three, or rather, a lot.

Dan was going to pick up Jongin and Sihyun. He would take care of them at home until Haerin and I arrived, which wasn't going to happen. Haerin would go back to her house or I don't care where the hell she went, I just wanted her away from me.

"Why so early?" he asked, getting up from the couch.

"None of your business," I said grumpily, not in the mood.

"Oh," he mocked, "Grumpy Minji is back," he said before walking out the door.

I let myself fall onto the couch, feeling a horrible pain in my chest. How could I have been so stupid as to fall in love with her? She had completely achieved her goal: making me fall for her and breaking me.

All those times she said at the beginning, "I'll get back at you for everything, Kim," she was fulfilling them now. If that day at the game I hadn't followed her home and confessed anything, this wouldn't be happening to me. I truly regret everything.

The sound of a car door closing snapped me out of my thoughts. I quickly stood up and practically ran to the living room window, moving the curtain aside.

She was carrying her shoes in her hand, her hair completely disheveled by the wind, and her makeup smudged from tears. I wanted to run to her and hug her, kiss her, and make her mine over and over again... But she was never mine. She just pretended to be.

She looked towards the house and then leaned against her car, covering her face, crying.

"Minji? Minji... Min! Wake up!" Some taps on my cheek made me open my eyes, startled.

"What? What's wrong? What?" I said quickly as I tried to untangle the sheets from my legs. Both laughed. "What do you want, you little brats?" I said, lying back down and rubbing my eyes.

"Where's Haerin?" Sihyun asked, hugging me. "Her car isn't here, and she's not in her room," she pouted. "And we're hungry," they both laughed again.

"Her things are gone too," Jongin added, and Sihyun nodded.

"Sh-She left us?" my sister's eyes began to well up with tears.

Wasn't it enough to hurt me? Did she have to hurt them too?

"Sihyun, Jongin..." I sighed and sat up in bed. "She went back to her house..." I had no idea what to tell them.

"Why? Doesn't she love us anymore?" The tears would soon appear on her face. I couldn't tell them she had lied to all of us. "But she promised she would be here."

"Sihyun, don't cry! Okay?" I said in a harsh tone that instead of calming her, scared her and made her cry even more. Jongin left my room after his sister, who had run out.

POV Haerin.

I got out of the taxi, my hair was already a mess, my shoes were in my hand causing my dress to drag, getting dirty and even tearing, and surely my makeup was beyond ruined. I took the keys out of my purse and looked towards the Kim house. Everything inside me twisted. I couldn't take it anymore and leaned against the car, starting to cry once again with all my heart. I tried to calm down and went inside.

Thanks to the emergency account my father had left me, I was able to pay for a hotel room.

I threw myself on the bed as soon as the room service boy left. Now I was more alone than ever. Minji would never forgive me.

I spent all of Sunday and Monday in the room; I hadn't even gone out to have the room cleaned. It wasn't necessary; I hadn't gotten out of bed except to shower, but then I would go back.

Tuesday at noon, it was already the second day I was missing classes, and there were only two weeks left—this one and exam week. But I was terrified of going and running into her. I was terrified that she would ignore me and I knew I would end up crying.

I finally decided I wouldn't stay there forever. I wouldn't resign myself to losing her that easily. She had to listen to me, she had to believe me. She had to understand that I changed for her.

I got to the record store and her motorcycle was there. I felt a terrible nausea, I couldn't do it. I turned the car back on and returned to the hotel.
