It was a warm evening in Dale. Everyone had gathered to Dales great hall as it was a day of celebration.

Bard looked at his son who was walking towards him in the new great hall of Dale. Bain was dressed in blue clothes similar to his father's when he was crowned, as it was his coronation day.

Yet again people from middle earth had gathered in Dale. The elves, the dwarves, mankind, a wizard and even a few hobbits had come to see the day a new king was to be crowned.

Bain had turned 18 few months back, it had been two years since Bard was crowned and now it was Bains turn to be a king, Dale would be proud of.

Bain bowed to his two sisters who were standing on Bards left side greeting them. Next to Sigrid was her new husband holding her hand smiling. Tilda could barely stand still as she was so proud of her brother for making it this far. Then Bain knelt down in front of Bard showing respect to his father, the king.

Bard smiled and turned to Gandalf who was standing on his right side. Bard lowered his head so that Gandalf could take the crown off of his head. After that he gave the crown back to Bard so that it was facing the right way. Bard then moved the crown on top of Bains head.

"Do you Bain son of king Bard promise to protect Dale and make wise decisions that will benefit Dales people bringing them happy well lived lives."

"I Bain son of kinf Bard, promise to protect Dale and make wise decisions that will benefit Dales people bringing them happy and well lived lives."

Bard woke up in Thranduils tent. It had been two years since the two had slept in the same bed or even in the same room. Bard hadn't had the time to visit Mirkwood with all the work his new status had brought him. It had been a long two years but now it was over and Bard was happy. He opened his eyes and looked at Thranduils face who was facing him. He looked peaceful and beautiful. Bard smiled to himself

"What are you smiling about?" Thranduil asked his eyes still closed.

"How did you..?" Bard asked confused.

"How do you still forget I have been alive for far longer than you have. You pick up some things when you live for as long as me." He said

"Ah, yes. I forgot how old you are." Bard chuckled.

"I am not old." Thranduil claimed.

"Yes, you are. You only have to admit it." Bard laughed.

"How rude-"

There was a knock on one of the tents poles that cut Thranduils words short.

"Can I come in?" It was Legolas.

"Yes, you can just wait for a moment Legolas." Bard answered.

Bard got up from the bed only wearing his pants, He took his shirt from a nearby chair where he had put it last night before they went to bed. Thranduil also got up with a sour face taking his robe from rack next to the bed putting it on but leaving it open.

Bard took a quick look at Thranduil and invited Legolas inside.

"What is is Legolas?" Thranduil asked after Legolas had walked inside.

"I'm here to ask when are we leaving. Well I assume we are leaving today as you father, still have your work at Mirkwood." Legolas said explaining

"Yes, I suppose it is time for us to leave and go back to Mirkwood. And from the way you speak Legolas you are coming with us?" Thranduil said.

"Yes, it has been two years since I last was there, and I am longing to be back at home. And Now that I have been by Bards side for few years it seems weird to not be where he is."
