"Okay, that totally freaked me out." begun Max as all the boys, plus the parents of Jay saw Joyce and Will walk out of the school, "Did that not freak you guys out?"
"Two episodes in two days." said Lucas.
"It's getting worse." added Mike, staring at Will as he got inside Joyce's car.
"You think it's True Sight?" suddenly asked Lucas, everyone immediately understood what Lucas was saying except for Max and Elizabeth.
"What's true sight?" asked Max and Elizabeth at the same time, the adult glanced at the girl for a few seconds before looking away.
Arthur sighed and rubbed his beard, "Look, kids, I'll check out on William later, you all need to go home before your parents get worried." he said, trying to get the attention away from that topic.
All the kids nodded and went to the bike racks, "Bye uncle." "Bye Mr. and Mrs. Maldonado." the boys said, waving at them and pedaling away.
Arthur patted the shoulder of Jay and looked at him, Arthur's eyes drifted towards the girl that was on his son's right side, "Max, are your parents picking you up? Maybe your brother, Billy?" he asked as Max's eyes grew wide.
"Oh shi- Sorry, no, I'm skating back home... Anyways, it was nice to see you again Mrs. and Mr. Maldonado." she said, muttering a curse under her breath, remembering that if she arrived late Billy would let her behind.
Just when Max was going to walk away the hand of Elizabeth stopped her, "Nonsense, your house is far away from here. I'm not letting you go alone, we can drop you off at your place."
Max immediately started shaking her head in denial but Arthur hummed and patted her shoulder softly, "We are not accepting a 'no', come on." he then walked with his wife to their car.
Jay shrugged softly and took her skateboard from the floor, "Come on road warriors." he said as he also started walking to the car.
Max just started at them in surprise and some happiness, 'They are amazing', she thought, following them and getting on the back of the car with Jay. As they drove away, a smile remained on her face for the rest of the ride until they were outside her house and for her relief, the car of Billy wasn't there.
"Thank you very much, Mrs and Mr Maldonado, you saved me." Max said, looking back and forth between Arthur and Elizabeth.
"Don't worry Max, anytime." said Arthur dismissively and sending a smile back while Elizabeth turned to look at her.
"Take care of yourself, okay?" Max nodded and turned to look at Jay who was already looking back at her.
"Thanks... Jay." she said with a bit of shyness, taking a deep breath and even if his mom was on the car, she leaned in and placed a kiss on his cheek, then she immediately walked out of the car by with the attentive, piercing stare of Elizabeth that followed her.
"She's bold I give her that... I don't like her." said Elizabeth with a cold tone but a little smirk tugged her lips, Arthur just laughed and drove away, glancing at his son through the rear view mirror.
"Well, I think you and your son have different opinions."
Jay was just freezed on place and smiling like a complete idiot, feeling some electricity and warmness spreading all over his body, at least this make it up for the moment Mike interrupted earlier at the school, "Max..." he whispered to himself and chuckled.
