Hayden H. Maldonado, or Jay for his friends, was your normal Hawkins boy, loving parents, the best friends anyone could ask for and a massive collection of books and music of Elvis Presley, you know, the usual.
But all his life changed since his cousin Will Byers disappeared, yes, cousin, his dad, Arthur Maldonado, he's older brother of Joyce Byers (née Maldonado), just for one year, but that doesn't matter right now. Jay felt extremely guilty that he didn't biked with Will, maybe he would have saved him? Maybe none of this would happen? All of this made him alongside his friends and other cousin- wait? Other cousin? Yes, Mike Wheeler is his cousin, Elizabeth Maldonado (née Childress) is older sister of Karen Wheeler (née Childress), so, yes, he's related to the Wheelers and Byers, but again, it doesn't matter. One rainy night Jay, Mike, Dustin and Lucas decided to look for Will themselves, but instead of finding Will, they found a shaved girl with a oversized yellow shirt in the middle of the woods.
The normal and peaceful life of the Maldonado family changed since then, since that girl named Eleven, or El, helped them find and get Will back, with the downside of her "dead", well, that's what the kids, teenagers and adults that knew about the Upside Down thought. So another year went by for the Maldonados, were Arthur, Elizabeth and Jay always look after their nephew/cousin if anything or anyone threatened the life of Will again, little thing they knew, everything will turn Upside Down again, specially for Jay, who will have to figure out how to save Will again and most importantly, figure out her feelings for certain new redhead in town...
