How Do You Think I Feel by Elvis Presley could be listened all over Jay's room, and as you probably guessed and expected for the young boy, he was still reading the Dune book with a little smile, his legs swaying left to right.
However, his reading season was interrupted when he heard some static coming from his walkie-talkie, so, with a small grunt and many efforts to close his book, he took the walkie-talkie and extend the antenna.
"No, Lucas. I don't wanna go to the arcade with you right now." said Jay rubbing his eyes and awaiting for who he expected was Lucas, who was earlier trying to get Jay to go to the arcade because of something important.
From the other side he could hear a relief sigh and some movement, "Thank God, Jay! We have a code red! I repeat, a code red! I need you help immediately." said the voice of Dustin, his voice sounded shaky, like he's been running or doing exercise for a while.
"Woah, woah, code red? What in the nine hells happened? Did Mews escaped again?" asked Jay confused and kind of scared of a code red, immediately jumping from his spot and gathering a few things on his backpack, he really didn't want to look for Mews again.
"I-I don't have time to explain! Meet me at Mike's house in 10!" said Dustin loudly while Jay walked out of his room and headed downstairs, he didn't spot any of his parents, probably at Joyce's.
"Like, now?"
"Now!"
After Jay leaved a note in the freezer saying that he was staying with Dustin for the day, he grabbed his bike and rode away from Loch Nora, heading towards Maple Street.
He met Dustin outside Mike's, both exchanged greetings and leaved their bikes on the ground as they walked to the door. Jay sighed and ringed the doorbell one time and waited for any of his aunt or Ted to respond.
"So... What was this code red again? Mews did got lost again?" begun Jay while moving back and forth in his spot.
Dustin groaned and shook his head, completely drifting the conversation away from Jay's question, "It doesn't matter right now... Why is nobody answering?" then Dustin proceed to ring the doorbell multiple times.
Jay immediately slapped Dustin's hand away and just when he was gonna scold Dustin, Ted opened the door with his same usual tired and lazy face.
"Hi." said Jay plainly, receiving a simple nod from Ted who just looked at the kids.
"Your line has been busy for over two hours, Mr. Wheeler. Do you realize this?" said Dustin while looking directly at Ted, like a mother scolding his son.
"Oh, I do realize." said Ted simply, leaning against the doorframe and keeping that lazy face that amused Jay so much.
"Is Mike home?"
"No."
"No? Well, where the hell is he?" asked Dustin growing irritated by Ted's careless and lazy attitude.
