The rest of the day goes by quickly, and before I know it, the sun's starting to dip below the horizon and the sky starts to turn a beautiful shade of orange.

As the clock nears eight o'clock I hear a firm knock at my front door. I take one last quick glance at myself in the mirror, making sure I look presentable before walking over to the front door.

As I open the door I see Alastor standing there. His expression softens and a small, pleased smile spreads on his face as he takes in the sight of me. "You look lovely." He says in a warm, fond tone.

I blush slightly as I give him a smile. "Thank you. You don't look too bad yourself." I tease. Alastor's small, warm smile widens into a playful grin as I tease him, his eyes glinting with a mixture of affection and amusement. "Why thank you. I try my best." He replies with a teasing voice, stepping to the side and offering me his arm. "Shall we go?"

I step outside, locking the door behind me before looping my arm in his with a grin. Alastor smiles warmly as I loop my arm in his, his hand wrapping around my arm with a gentle grip as he guides me to his car.

Alastor swiftly opens the passenger side door for me and watches as I settle into the seat, his eyes lingering on me for a moment before closing the door.

He then walks over to the driver's side, opens the door, and slides into the seat next to me, before closing the door. He then starts the engine, glances in my direction, and flashes me a playful smile. "Ready?"

"Ready." I say with a nod. Alastor's smile widens at my ready response and he shifts the car into gear, pulling the car out of the parking spot and onto the road.

As he drives he glances over at me, his expression filled with a mixture of warm contentment and subtle excitement. "Looking forward to the jazz club?"

"I am. I haven't been in some time which is why Mimz made me promise to come tonight." I laugh slightly remembering how determined she was to get me to come.

Alastor laughs along with me, a look of amused understanding on his face at my mention of Mimzy's determination. "Ah, yes, Mimzy can be quite persuasive, I take it?" He says with a grin.

"Oh she is. She's a spitfire that's for sure." I say as I continue to laugh. Alastor chuckles softly at my description of Mimzy, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he glances over at me for a moment.

"Oh, I can only imagine. She does strike me as the fiery type." I put my hand up to my mouth as I continued to laugh.

The drive to the jazz bar is filled with lighthearted conversation, laughter, and warm smiles. Alastor's driving is both confident and smooth, his eyes focused on the road but his attention still mainly on me as we talk.

The streets fly by outside as the jazz club slowly comes into view. Alastor's car turns the corner and pulls up in front of the jazz club, the parking lot buzzing with activity as people mill around and enter the building.

The jazz club itself is a vibrant sight, the streetlights and neon signs illuminating it in a plethora of colors as the familiar sound of jazz music drifts from inside. Alastor parks the car and shuts off the engine, looking at me with a small warm smile. "Ready to go inside?" I unbuckle my seatbelt as I nod.

Alastor does the same, unbuckling his seatbelt before opening the door and stepping out of the car. He walks around to my side and pulls the door open for me, offering me his hand to help me out. I take a hold of his hand as I step onto the ground. "Thank you."

"Of course." Alastor replies with a small nod and a soft smile. He then shuts the car door behind me and tucks my hand in the crook of his arm, leading me towards the entrance of the jazz club.

As we approach the entrance of the jazz club, Alastor keeps my hand tucked in the crook of his arm, his grip gentle yet firm as he guides me through the doorway.

The inside of the jazz club is just as vibrant as the outside. There's a live band playing upbeat jazz songs on stage as people dance and chatter around the room.

The energy inside is infectious, the sound of the jazzy songs filling the air and mixing with the sound of people dancing and chatting. Colorful lights swirl around the room, adding to the lively atmosphere, and people dressed in their finest outfits mill about, sipping on drinks and having a good time.

Alastor's smile widens as he takes in the lively atmosphere of the room, his eyes darting around the room and taking in everything before finally resting on me. His gaze is warm and fond as he looks down at me, his arm gently pulling me closer to his side.

As my eyes dart around the room as well I notice an empty table. I tap his hand gently before pointing over at it. "Should we snag that table?" I ask with a small head tilt. Alastor follows my gaze to where I'm pointing and sees the empty table, nodding in agreement. "Good thinking." He says with a small grin.

He leads me over to the table with his hand placed gently on my lower back, pulling out a chair for me once we reach it. He waits until I'm seated before pushing the chair in slightly and taking his own seat across from me.

Once he's settled in his seat, Alastor leans back slightly, his gaze roaming around the room as he takes in the activity of the people around us.

There's a look of fond appreciation on his face as he observes the lively atmosphere of the jazz club. "Are you having a good time?" I ask with a grin seeing how happy he is in this atmosphere.

Alastor turns his gaze back to me at my question, a warm smile spreading on his face as he looks at me. "Of course I am. It's a lovely jazz club, after all. And I'm in great company." He replies with a sly smirk.

"I'm glad. This place has always been wonderful." I say taking in the space as well. Alastor nods in agreement, his gaze flickering around the room again before once more returning to me.

"It's a great atmosphere. And the music is quite good, if I do say so myself." He adds with a small chuckle. "You can never go wrong with jazz." I agree with him as I tap my fingers on the table with the beat. "Oh absolutely." Alastor grins and nods in agreement, noticing the way I tap my fingers on the table in synchronization with the rhythm. "Jazz is always a winner."

He watches me for a moment, a playful glint in his eyes, before continuing. "Do you like to dance, darling?" My eyes light up as he asks me. "I adore dancing, especially to jazz."

Alastor's lips curled into an amused smile at my response, his eyes glinting with a mixture of warmth and satisfaction as he observed my expression. "Ah, I had a feeling you would." He remarked with a smile. "Jazz does have a way of making one want to move, doesn't it?"

"I certainly does. Dancing is just so lively and a great way to wind down." I hum. "Mhmm, I agree. It's a good way to let loose and relax." Alastor responds with a pleasant murmur.

He pauses for a moment, his eyes locked on mine, a small amused glint in them. "Perhaps you'll give me the pleasure of dancing with you sometime tonight?"

My smile widens at his request. "I think I'd enjoy that." Alastor's expression brightens up further at my response, a pleased smile spreading on his face at my agreement to dance with him. "Fantastic. I look forward to it." He says, a hint of excitement in his voice.

As the song comes to an end the band quickly begins another song as my eyes widen. It's the same song I sold to his mother and the one he played on the radio.

"We should dance to this song." I say excitedly as I stand up and grab his hand. Alastor's eyes widen in surprise and realization as the familiar song starts playing, a mix of warmth and nostalgia flooding his expression.

As I stand and grab his hand, he recovers his composure and grins at my excited response. "Oh, is that so?" He teases, standing and letting me tug him towards the dance floor.

As I lead him towards the dance floor I can't help but let out a small laugh as I look behind me every so often to make sure he's keeping up with me. Alastor chuckles softly as he follows me to the dance floor, letting me lead the way with a playful grin on his face.

"Eager, are we?" He teases as I look back at him periodically to make sure he's keeping up, matching my pace and following me with ease. I respond as soon as we step on the dance floor. "Very eager to dance to this song with you."
