Mimzy sits across from me, her eyes wide with excitement and disbelief. She's been listening intently as I recount the moment Alastor asked me to be his girlfriend. When I finish, Mimzy lets out a small squeal of joy.
Mimzy clasps her hands together, a wide grin spreading across her face. "Oh my goodness, that is so exciting!" she exclaims, practically bouncing in her seat. I begin to laugh at her excitement as my cheeks begin to flush.
Mimzy notices the blushing reaction, her grin growing wider. "Now look at you, all blushy just thinking about him." she teases gleefully. I wave her off as my hands go to cover my cheeks. "I can't help it." I whine playfully. Mimzy laughs out loud at my response, thoroughly amused by my bashfulness. "You've got it bad." she teases, her tone lighthearted and teasing.
Before I can respond the waiter comes over with both of our coffees. Mimzy takes her coffee from the waiter and gives him a playful wink, earning her a flustered smile from the young man. When he leaves, Mimzy turns her attention back to me, a mischievous glint in her eye.
I notice the sly look in Mimzy's eye and lean forward curiously, knowing I'm probably about to be teased again. "So, how's it feel to be dating the most wanted bachelor in town?" she asks jokingly. I roll my eyes playfully, chuckling at Mimzy's teasing remark. "Oh yes, I'm the envy of all the women in town." I reply sarcastically, playing along with her banter.
Mimzy laughs heartily at my response, clearly enjoying our playful banter. "You know it's true," she says, a smirk on her lips. "All the ladies are probably dying to trade places with you right now." She takes a sip of her coffee before resuming her teasing. "So, have you kissed him yet?" she asks, wiggling her eyebrows playfully.
I immediately placed down my coffee cup that I had just picked up before covering my face. "Mimz." I whine through my hands. Mimzy bursts into laughter again at my flustered reaction, clearly enjoying making me squirm. "I'll take that as a no." she snickers, leaning back in her seat with a smirk on her face.
My face flushes even more as I lower my hands and huff slightly. Mimzy giggles at my flushed reaction, her expression gleefully smug. "Aww, look at you. All red-faced and embarrassed just from thinking about kissing your boyfriend."
"You enjoy teasing me too much." I pout at her. Mimzy grins wickedly in response, clearly proud of herself. "What can I say? You're too fun to tease." she retorts, taking another sip of her coffee.
I shake my head as a small smile forms on my lips before I take a sip of my coffee as well. Mimzy watches me with a satisfied grin, clearly amused by my reaction. "But in all seriousness," she begins, her tone becoming sincere, "I'm really happy for you, you know?"
She then leans in closer to me. "But he better watch himself cause if he does anything..." She pauses as she leans back into her chair with a smile. "Well, let's hope he doesn't do anything wrong for his own sake."
I laugh softly at Mimzy's protective attitude, touched by her loyalty to me. "I'll be sure to let him know," I responded jokingly. "But I doubt he'd do anything to warrant your wrath."
Her eyes shift away from me for a moment, confusing me, before she begins to fiddle with the radio on the table. "Since we got a table with a radio again we shouldn't let it go to waste." Mimzy says happily.
I nod in agreement, the confusion about Mimzy's expression quickly forgotten as I focus on the radio. "Agreed," I reply, taking another sip of my coffee as Mimzy fusses with the dials on the radio.
My gaze flickers to the shop's entrance as their bell rings and my eyes light up as I see Mrs. Hartfelt walking inside. Mimzy is still preoccupied with the radio, her back facing the entrance. She seems to be trying to find a good station, the sound of static and muffled voices filling the air.
