The first streaks of daylight peek through the curtains, the room bathing in a soft, early morning glow. I find myself still in Alastor's arms, our bodies still intertwined in the position we fell asleep in.

I carefully and quietly untangle myself from Alastor's grasp, trying my best not to wake him. He stirs a little, mumbling something incomprehensible, but soon settles back into a deep sleep. I head to his kitchen, my mind already mapping out what I can make for him.

After opening the fridge I decided to make bacon and eggs. He probably won't want to eat much so making a simple meal would be best. I set to work, silently preparing the food.

The sounds of sizzling bacon and the smell of cooking eggs fill the kitchen, adding an oddly comforting ambiance. I focus on the task at hand, allowing myself to immerse in the simple process of cooking.

With the bacon and eggs cooking, I turn my attention to preparing coffee for us. I carefully measure out the grounds and water. The aroma of brewing coffee soon mingles with the scent of cooking food, creating a cozy sense of normalcy.

I wait patiently for the coffee to finish brewing, my focus shifting to the bacon and eggs, checking their progress. Once the coffee completes brewing, I pour two mugs, the hot liquid steam swirling into the air.

After I tend to the bacon and eggs, carefully turning and flipping the food to ensure they're cooked evenly. The sizzling sound and the pleasant sight of well-cooked food fill the kitchen with an oddly domestic atmosphere.

A small smile forms on my lips as I take in the atmosphere. I could get used to this. Used to waking up next to him. The memories of Mrs. I Hartfelt and the previous day's tragedy linger in my mind, casting a shadow over the otherwise peaceful moment.

Despite the warm domestic scene playing out before me, the pain and grief of the loss still weigh heavily on my heart. I refocus on the task at hand, shaking off the sad thoughts and redirecting my attention to the food cooking before me. I plate the breakfast, the simple yet comforting meal ready to be served.

I'm caught off guard when arms suddenly wrap around me from behind, causing me to jump slightly. I let out a small gasp, my heart racing momentarily. But then I recognize the familiar warmth and the smell of Alastor's cologne, realizing who it is.

"Morning." I say as he rests his head on my shoulder. "Mornin'." He replies, his voice soft and still laced with traces of sleep. He nestles his head against my shoulder, his body molding effortlessly around mine.

The moment is intimate and comfortable, a small pocket of peace in the midst of the previous day's chaos. "Are you hungry?" I ask as I keep my voice low.

There's a short pause before he answers in a soft, hoarse voice, his head still nestled against my shoulder. "A little." Despite the simplicity of the answer, I can hear the weary edge to his voice, betraying the exhaustion that his body probably still carries.

"Good. That's good." I respond back as I turn around to face him. His arms are still loosely wrapped around me as I catch a glimpse of his tired face, his eyes heavy with exhaustion, his usual charming smile nowhere to be seen. The sight tugs at my heart, a silent confirmation of the weight his mother's death has placed on him.

"Where do you want to eat? At the table or in the living room?" He considers for a moment before answering, his voice still low and wearied. "Living room." I can tell he's not up for a proper meal in the kitchen, preferring the comfort and ease of sitting on the couch instead.

I put a smile on my face for him as I shoo him away. "Alright then. You go sit and I'll bring you your food." He seems reluctant to let me go, his arms loosening their hold on me slowly. But he nods, probably understanding that I want to do this for him. He takes a step back, his eyes locking onto mine for a moment before he turns and slowly makes his way to the living room.
