I can feel a pang of guilt in my chest for lying to (Y/N) about why I had to bail on my mother's book club. The thought of deceiving her gnaws at me, but I quickly brushes it off, knowing that it was necessary to cover up my real work.
I've been watching an especially vile man for the past few days and today was the day I needed to kill him. This man has been abusing and harassing multiple women and this was my best chance to get him before he started to prey on his newest victim.
The man, I've learnt his name is Ivan, has plans on going to a club later tonight. After I get off of work for the day I'll tail him and find a way to drug his drink so I can get him outside and alone.
I finish getting ready for work as I button my vest and grab my jacket. I ruffle my hair slightly as I try to calm myself down. Just thinking about what Ivan has been doing is enough to make my blood boil.
Taking a deep breath I try my best to calm my anger, at least temporarily. I know that I need to be focused and on top of my game if I'm going to take care of Ivan tonight. Can't make any mistakes.
With one last sigh I grab my keys and head out of my house, to my car, to head to work for the day. As I get myself settled in my car I glance at my watch making me curse under my breath. I'm running a bit late. Guess some of (Y/N)'s tendencies have rubbed off on me I think with a smile.
I can't help but smile slightly as I think about how she has rubbed off on me. I used to be so punctual and never late, but spending more time with her I've noticed that I have become more laid-back and less rigid with my time.
My smile grows as I shake my head. I then put my car in drive and begin to make my way to the radio station. As I drive my mind begins to shift into work mode. I start mentally going over what segments and songs I'll be doing over the few hours I'm hosting today.
I've been doing this job for so long now that it almost feels automatic, but I still like to be prepared and have everything planned out perfectly.
As I pull into the station and park my car, I make one last mental check over my plans for the show before getting out and making my way into the building.
Theodore greets me as soon as I walk in and I give him my signature charming smile in return. He knows I'm not usually talkative in the morning so he lets me go straight to my office without trying to hold me up with small talk.
When I get in my office I grab my necessary papers before glancing at the clock. I usually have time to relax before the broadcast but since I was running late I need to head into the studio in a few minutes. A sigh escapes my lips as I begin to think of the long day ahead of me.

I stretch my arms above my head as the 'on air' sign finally shuts off signalling I'm done for the day. Done here at least. The constant smiling and fake enthusiasm that I had to put on for the show always leaves me feeling a bit drained but that's show business.
After stretching I stood up from the seat and grabbed all of my papers before heading back to my office. When I get inside I leave the papers a scattered mess on my desk.
For a moment I just stare at the desk before silently chuckling to myself. My mother will come visit one day soon and tidy my desk up immediately. The thought of her tidying up after me never fails to bring a small smile to my face.
My eyes drift to my clock again and I quickly start getting ready to head out. The club he's attending is a bit of a drive from here so if I leave in the next five minutes I should be right on schedule. My mind begins to run through my plan for the night as I make my way out of my office.
