Eren and Sera were seated at a quiet corner table in the library, surrounded by towering shelves of books. Eren, with his usual cheerful demeanor, leaned in slightly as Sera spoke about the book she was reading.

"So, Eren, have you ever read 'The Legend of the Forest Guardians'?" Sera asked, her voice barely above a whisper, yet filled with a subtle enthusiasm.

Eren shook his head, his golden rings catching the soft light of the library. "No, I haven't. What's it about?"

"It's about these ancient Pokémon who protected a magical forest from invaders. The story is filled with adventure and mystery," Sera explained, her eyes lighting up just a bit. "It's really fascinating."

Eren leaned closer, genuinely interested. "That sounds awesome. I might have to check it out sometime."

As they continued their conversation, Eren suddenly became aware of the hushed whispers and the curious glances directed at them. He glanced around and realized that quite a few Pokémon were not-so-subtly eavesdropping on their conversation.

Sera noticed too and sighed softly. She stood up, clearly annoyed by the unwanted attention. Eren's heart sank; he feared this might be the end of their rare moment of connection. Without thinking, he quickly got up and followed her.

"Hey, Sera, wait up!" he called, trying to keep his voice low enough not to attract more attention.

Sera turned to him, her expression a mix of irritation and confusion. "Why are you following me, Eren?"

Eren scratched the back of his head, trying to come up with a reasonable excuse. "Uh, well... I'm, uh, going the same way?"

Sera raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Really, Eren? That's the best you've got?"

Eren chuckled nervously, his usual confidence faltering. "Yeah, I know, it's a pretty old excuse. But, honestly, I just didn't want our conversation to end like that. I really was interested in what you were saying."

Sera's expression softened slightly, but she still shook her head. "Eren, sometimes I just need some space. I appreciate your interest, but I prefer to be alone right now."

Eren nodded, understanding her need for solitude. "Got it, Sera. I'll catch you later, then."

With that, Sera turned and walked away, leaving Eren standing there. He watched her go, a mix of disappointment and respect in his eyes. As he turned back towards the library, he couldn't help but chuckle at himself. "Well, at least I tried," he muttered, heading back to his corner of the library.

Sera POV

Heck, that Umbreon sure gets a lot of attention. It's downright annoying. I'm just trying to be polite with him, but it seems like every time I do, we end up with half the school eavesdropping on our conversations.

I made my way out of the library, feeling the curious stares of the other Pokémon on my back. My first instinct was to find my favorite spot in the garden, where I could finally get some peace and quiet. Eren had been surprisingly interested in my book, but it was hard to enjoy the moment with everyone else watching us like we were the latest episode of a reality show.

As I walked, I could hear Eren following behind me. I stopped and turned to face him, my irritation bubbling to the surface. "Why are you following me, Eren?"

He scratched the back of his head, looking sheepish. "Uh, well... I'm, uh, going the same way?"

I raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed by his lame excuse. "Really, Eren? That's the best you've got?"

He chuckled nervously, his usual confidence nowhere to be seen. "Yeah, I know, it's a pretty old excuse. But, honestly, I just didn't want our conversation to end like that. I really was interested in what you were saying."
