I woke up after tossing and turning all night and made my way to the kitchen. My mind was racing with thoughts of this goddamn receipt and the possibility Marko had been cheating on me. Surely he wasn't right? Something was off but, Marko surely wasn't the type to do this? I walked through the living room and Marko was still asleep on the sofa. The receipt was on the table where he'd left it. I picked it back up and made my way into the kitchen to get some water. Breakfast that day was, tense to say the least. I set my coffee cup down after taking a sip. ''Marko?'' I asked and he looked up from his toast and nodded his head for me to continue. ''I need to talk about the receipt again.'' I admitted and he sighed. ''Eva, I've told you everything I know. I don't know how it got there.'' He replied and I slid the receipt over to him. ''We've never been there together, can you honestly tell me you've never been there?'' I asked and he met my gaze across the table. ''Eva, I have never been there. I swear. This whole thing is just a part of Ella and Oscar's plan to break us up.'' He said and I sighed and examined his eyes, his facial expressions for any sign of deceit. ''I want to believe you, but it's hard with everything that's been happening.'' I replied and his hand reached across the table and took mine. ''Darling, we'll get through this yeah? Trust me.'' I nodded slowly. Today, we had also decided to talk to my sister and attempt to end this once and for all.

My heart was pounding in my chest as we rang my sister's doorbell and she answered quickly and with a smile. ''Eva, Marko! What are you doing here?'' She asked and I crossed my arms. ''We need to talk. Inside. Now.'' I said coldly and she hesitated but stepped aside to let us in. We got into her living room and I pulled the receipt out of my pocket. ''Explain this, Ella. How did this end up in Marko's jacket?'' I asked and she looked at it with a fake confusion. ''I have no idea what you're talking about.'' She replied, acting innocence. ''Cut the act Ella. I know you and Oscar have been plotting against us and this has you written all over it.'' I snapped and Marko put his hand on my shoulder as someone entered from the kitchen. Oscar. He looked smug. ''What's going on here?'' He asked, smirking. ''We know what you've been doing.'' Marko replied and I sighed and finally looked at him proper. Anger and hurt rose to my surface and drove my reaction. ''You've been trying to break us up haven't you? First the rumours, now this fake receipt. Why can't you leave us alone?'' I asked and he laughed.

''You really thought you could just walk away from me? From everything we had? You owe me Eva.'' I felt Marko's grip tighten on me and Ella shook her head. ''Oscar, stop. You're not helping.'' Ella said nervously and I scowled at her. ''Helping? Ella you're my fucking sister! How could you do this to me?'' I said and she teared up. ''I was jealous okay? You always had everything, even when we were kids! You were always mum and dad's favourite. I couldn't stand seeing you happy with him. But Oscar...I didn't want it to go this far.'' I noticed Oscar take a step closer to me. ''You think you can just accuse us and walk away? You know what I'm capable of Ev.'' He said and everything came rushing back to me. ''You stay away from her, Oscar.'' Marko stepped in front of me and Oscar lunged at him. ''I told you to fucking stay away from her.'' Marko said before punching Oscar in the face and Oscar stumbled back and laughed. ''That all you got, pretty boy?'' Oscar aimed a punch at Marko's torso however Marko dodged it and grabbed his  arm and managed to flip him onto the floor. ''I'm fucking warning you, you piece of shit.'' Marko said and Oscar kicked Marko's leg, pretty hard, but Marko refused to let him go and tightened his grip on Oscar's arm.

Meanwhile, me and Ella were watching in horror as Oscar scrambled free. ''Stop it, both of you! This is crazy!'' I shouted and I was ignored. Oscar lunged at Marko once more and Marko must've been expecting it because he punched his nose and pretty sure he broke it, causing Oscar to collapse to the floor, holding his nose groaning. Marko stood over him, his breath was heavy and he wiped his forehead. ''Don't you ever come near Eva again.'' He said before coming back over to me and I just wrapped my arms around him. ''Ev you okay?'' He said and all I could do was burst into tears. What was wrong with us?
