I opened my eyes to the sun blaring into the room, we had forgotten to shut the blinds last night. I turned around and seen Marko gazing at me in awe. ''Morning, beautiful.'' He said and I smiled and rubbed my eyes. ''Morning. You been watching me long?'' I asked and he blushed. ''I'm sorry, you're just so peaceful when you sleep.'' He said and he leaned in for a kiss but I laughed softly and stopped him. ''Marko, I love you but I have the worst morning breath so no.'' He pulled a sad face and kissed my neck instead and ran his hands across my curves. ''Marko, stop.'' I giggled, I only wanted him to stop because it tickled. He pulled away from my neck and smirked. ''That's not what you said last night, darling.'' I blushed at his comment and playfully hit him. ''Shut up.'' I said and he smiled. ''Me shut up? Sweetheart I'm pretty sure half the neighbourhood heard you last night.'' I rolled my eyes playfully and sat up. I reached onto the floor and grabbed one of Marko's hoodies that was laying on the floor. What's his is mine. We went downstairs and had breakfast. Marko decided to make it today so I set everything up and made us some coffee. ''Why don't we have pancakes, bacon, and your favourite blueberry muffins?'' He asked, getting the ingredients out and I hugged him from behind. ''You know the way to my heart. Do you need any help?'' I asked and he shook his head. ''Just your company. And maybe a repeat performance of last night as payment for breakfast?'' He joked and he turned around and I kissed him. ''Deal.'' I said, laughing. I leant against the counter, watching Marko make the pancakes as I waited for the coffee to be done. Once it was, I reached for the pot and poured two cups, adding cream and sugar in both. ''Here's your coffee, chef.'' I said as I passed Marko his coffee once he had flipped a pancake. He took a sip and smiled. ''Perfect. Just like you.'' He said and I blushed.
We set the table, putting a plate of blueberry muffins, a pile of pancakes and the coffee pot in the middle of the table. We sat down and started eating. ''Ev?'' Marko asked and I looked up after stuffing my face full of blueberry muffin. ''Do you remember the first breakfast I made for you? I burned the toast and overcooked the eggs because I didn't know how your toaster worked.'' I swallowed my food and giggled. ''It was so bad, but I pretended to love it because I didn't want to hurt your feelings.'' I replied and Marko smiled. ''You were so sweet about it. But look how far I've come!'' He said proudly and I nodded. The pancakes were fluffy and golden, the bacon was crispy and the muffins were the best I'd ever tasted. ''This is amazing, Marko. You've outdone yourself.'' I said and he smiled.
After breakfast we decided to go on a walk, today was about us just enjoying some time together and forgetting the events of yesterday. We went to a nearby park. The air was fresh and the sun shone brightly. We held hands as we walked, me kicking the leaves up where I could, how I loved autumn. ''It's such a beautiful day, even if it is autumn.'' Marko said and I rolled my eyes. ''It's beautiful anyways, autumn is so pretty.'' I said and he shook his head. We stopped by a small pond because I wanted to watch the ducks swim, they were so cute. Marko picked up a small pebble and skipped it across the surface and I laughed. ''You're such a kid sometimes.'' I said and he smiled. ''You're such a kid sometimes.'' I was interrupted by the buzzing of my phone. I decided to ignore it and enjoy the walk.

Later that night, we were cuddling on the sofa watching The Office (Tell me Marko picked the show without telling me he picked the show.) Marko grabbed a blanket from the back of the sofa and wrapped it around us and I smiled. ''Marko?'' I asked and he looked at me. ''Do you ever think about our future?'' I asked and he nodded. ''I know we've only been together for five months, but yes. All the time. I think about waking up beside you every morning, us having our own cats, everything.'' I smiled. ''Do you miss your cats?'' I asked and he nodded. ''I do, but I also know they're okay and I can visit them whenever I go back to Croatia.'' He replied and kissed my head before kissing my lips with a slow, tender kiss. I pulled back slightly and he smiled like a goof at me. ''I love you Marko, more than words can ever say.'' I said and he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. ''I love you too Ev, more than you'll ever know.'' I felt myself drifting off to sleep before I remembered about the message I got before. I finally checked it and my heart stopped.
