Lola and Caine Pov

I worked on this chapter for too long LOL. I stepped out of my comfort zone a little, I hope you all like it!

LOLA POV

It's been four months, and we're still trying to find Caine's dad. While looking for him, we've also been traveling between ally packs and informing them of the alliance between the spiritual beings and shifters that needed to be formed. After some convincing, we were able to get them to understand and have them join us while letting go of any spiritual beings they may have. Luckily for us, there weren't any.

We still needed to visit two packs that we have no relations with to inform them about the situation at hand. Caine informed me that it'd be a little harder to persuade them, so we decided to take a month off. In the meantime, I've been staying with Caine while I begin training for the position of Luna. Tomorrow is my first day, and I can't say that I'm not nervous because I am. So much has changed in these four months, and I'm still trying to get used to it all.

I quit my job at the hospital to work in Caine's—well, our pack hospital—a week before we started our trip. The small borough really is nice. It's called Lupinora Hollow, with its friendly community and aesthetically pleasing street shops and decor. I learned that there's a glamour over the whole community that stops outsiders from recognizing it.

I truly love the people here. At first, I thought they were being fake because I was their soon-to-be Luna, but not all of them knew that. Only the people who are close to Caine know, which is nice.

Since today was our first day off in months, I decided to get everything that bothered me out of the way. It was now nighttime, and I had one more thing to do before bed. I've been so fatigued, just out of it, and I wanted to speak with the spirits about the heaviness weighing on my shoulders. Ever since I've connected with the spirits, I've been so grounded, but for the past couple of weeks, I haven't been feeling that.

So while Caine was at a meeting he had with Mace and a few others, I decided to do a cleansing and then talk with the spirits. I put my herbs and flowers that I picked from the new garden in place on the bedroom floor and prepared my crystals and crystal singing bowls.

I completed the cleansing before calling out to the spirits. I cleared my mind of everything and did just that. "Spirits." I waited in the darkness of my mind until my aura colors popped up one by one. "Hello Lola." I took a deep breath before continuing with my question. "Hello spirits. I need help—well, a better understanding, I guess." I watched as the colors in front of me glowed. "A better understanding of what?" I tried piecing together the words I wanted to say before actually saying them. "I was once so well grounded and in tune with myself, but I'm not like that anymore. I'm exhausted in every way, and I've rarely used my powers. Why did everything change all of a sudden?" I waited for them to respond. The colors in front of me became bigger as the spirits spoke, and only then did I notice an extra circle. Green now coating the inside of the irregular circle.

"Isn't it obvious? You're with child." I looked at the circle in disbelief. "I'm with child... How long have I been with child." I now understand my current situation, but that doesn't stop the panic I'm experiencing. "Two months. We hid your scent, considering your mate is a wolf and could tell, and we needed you to find out first on your own." I would say I can't believe it, but that would be a lie. Caine and I haven't stopped making love since we've been together. "So how do I go about telling them?"

"We'll unmask it's scent, and you can only tell Caine for now. Once he knows, then you two can decide how to proceed." I watched as the colors flashed. "Is this something that happens with all spiritual beings pregnancies?"

"No. You have a mixture of two powerful beings combined into one inside of you. I don't think you realize how rare that is. Many would come after you if they knew what you held." If the panic wasn't visibly showing on my face, I know for a fact that it is now. "How do I cover my scent after showing Caine?"
