We were woken up by the sound of music playing. I looked over at Taijah and she slowly got up and headed out of the room, and I followed behind her. Once we left our shelter our dad found us and made his way towards us. 

"My beautiful girls. We've prepared a rising feast for you two. You first need to get cleaned up and prepared for the day. Remember your cousin from yesterday Omani and Alaba, they're going to help you girls." He told us while grabbing our hands and leading us to our cousins. 

They led us to the river to clean up and then back to our room to get us dressed in the same white and purple drapes that our dad was wearing and crystal jewelry from head to toe. 

We made our way back to the feast and sat beside our dad as he said a prayer over the food, and we began eating.

"After they clean up the feast we will take you two to visit your great aunt to connect with the spirits." My dad told us before getting up and making his way to the river to clean up. Taijah and I stood up and followed him to the river. 

"You know you girls used to follow me around just like this when you were little." 

"Did we really?"

"Oh yes, any time your mother couldn't find you, she knew to come looking for me." He told us while laughing. I smiled and looked over to Taijah to see her smiling as well. 

"Okay, let's go back, I'm sure your aunt is waiting for us." We followed him to our aunts room, where she was waiting for us inside.

"Girls I'm so happy you came to visit us. Are you ready?" She asked.

"Yes ma'am." We replied. 

She did almost the same thing that our grandma did when she performed a ritual for Caine. Instead of us sitting up, she had us lay on our back on a bed of herbs and flowers, with our palms facing the sky. She rubbed oil on our head and gave us a herb to eat. 

"Once I play the crystal bowls you will take two deep breaths in and two deep breaths out. Focus on the ringing in your ear and clear your mind of everything but the ringing. Do not show or feel fear. Your surroundings will be black until your aura colors come to light, that will be the only thing that you see. You will hear whispers at first and then the spirits will begin to speak with you. Are you ready?"

"Yes." Taijah and I answered.

She started to play the crystal bowls and I took my two deep breaths in and out. I began to focus on the ringing in my ear. I felt as if I drifted off to sleep, for a second I saw myself lying on the pile of herbs and roses, then it began to feel like I was standing in a dark room. Instantly my aura colors started popping up one by one. White, purple, blue, and green. The colors joined in a circle, and grew bigger as the whispering began.

"Damilola. Nice of you to join us."

"Thank you for never leaving my side."

"Our pleasure. You have your ceremony today, are you prepared to turn the bad into good?"

"Yes I am."

"Good. You and your sister don't need the ceremony to activate your powers. We can do that for you here, but you will have to go through the ceremony to stop the wrong doings that have yet to come."

"What do you mean?"

"You will know what needs to be done when the time comes. We're always with you. From this point on to reach us, all you'd have to do is take two deep breaths in and out, then call onto us."
