"No. The team my father put together has spearheaded programs that are saving taxpayers thousands of dollars a year and are changing this city for the better, Crisis One, the clinic, PRT, which I want to fight for. I want to fight for the PRT, but it's not my place, 'cause 19's not my house, but it should be. I was able to make some changes during my time as captain at 23, but the problems at that house go deeper than hazing and sex jokes. I-- I want to be at 19. 19's my home." Andy looked up at Chief Ross, passion and determination shown through her eyes.
"You just solved a big problem for me." Andy lets out a small exhale of breath with a smile. "Yeah, I finally worked my way through McCallister's desk, and what I found was a massive budget issue, bigger than I thought" Andy is looking at Ross as they start to walk with a frown on her face "I have to find $14 million or SFD has to declare bankruptcy, so all week, I've been trying to figure out which station to shut down, and after the way that you just spoke about 23, that's an easy decision."
"No, no, no. I'm-- I-I didn't mean to--"
"I know. I know you didn't. Thank you for your transparency. Let's get dinner next week, and we'll figure out how to get you home, okay?" Ross patted Andy on the shoulder and walked away.
Andy was thinking about that conversation over and over and over again. She felt guilty as hell that she got 23 shut down and that guilt only got worse at Joe's when she let it slip that she talked to Ross.
"So, you wanting to go back to your precious 19 is the reason 23 got shut down?" Theo asked.
Duval ended up hearing "What?"
Andy went on to tell the rest of the team that she asked Chief Ross to be transferred back to 19
"You know. You constantly preach that we are a team." Duval started and Andy tries to interrupt.
"That--"
Duval "We have each other's backs, right? But the first chance you get, you just stab us in ours."
"Some freaking captain you are," Maddox commented. "Hey, 23, let's go somewhere else." He asks Jeremy if he's coming or not and Jeremy tries to defend her.
"Dude, she just said she tried to protect you all. Do you think an interim captain really has the power to shut down an entire station? I'm gonna finish my beer man."
Andy saw that Theo was starting to get up, but she quickly stopped him, asking him to stay. He decided to stay because he didn't want to go anywhere else, plus he wanted to see Vic.
It was a couple hours later, a few beet, multiple shots later that Jeremy and Andy decided to leave. Theo was playing darts with Travis, who had come from the dinner at Dixon's house, so he didn't notice her leaving with Jeremy.
Andy and Jeremy are leaving the bar hours later, Andy trips, and Jeremy catches her and holds hands.
"Okay, I definitely cannot drive."
"No, I'll get you an Uber."
"No, it's okay. I-I can get my own."
"Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa." turns Andy to face him "Or -- Or we could share one."
