It's All Going to Change

TW – SA (implied/Mentioned)

The team had deployed their fire shelters and were under for what seemed like forever when it had only been 20 minutes. Vic decided to speak up, not liking the silence.

"I feel like a baked potato," Vic said, trying to lighten the mood.

"A baked potato on a freight train. I had no idea it would be this loud." Travis said.

"It's literally hailing fire," Dom added.

"It feels like the wind's trying to pick me up," Vic said.

"Hold on tight, everybody," Robert told them.

"Hey, uh. Wait. Has anyone heard anything about Theo?" Vic asked, concern clear in her voice.

"I... Radio... Heard." Everyone heard Andy's radio crackle and then there was silence

"Wait, wait. Captain, your radio is breaking up. What was that?" Vic asked and just heard static.

"Herrera?" Vic questioned. "Herrera, can you hear me?" Vic asked and heard nothing but static.

Maya began to get worried. "Andy? Andy, talk to us." Maya waited, hoping she would get a reply but when she didn't she began to panic. "Andy, please answer." There was no answer again. "Chief, how long until you think it's safe?"

"Right now, it's clear that there's fire all around us. It's still loud so it's not safe." Natasha told her. She was concerned about the young captain too, wondering why she wasn't answering.

------------------------

It was another 20 minutes when Natasha declared that it was safe. Ross got up from hers she looked around, called that it was safe and then had everyone check in.

"Bishop!", "Hughes!", "Montgomery!", "Dom!" "Sullivan!", "Beckett." were the names called out.

"Herrera?" Travis called and looked around along with everyone else.

"Guys, her fire shelter." Maya pointed to where it was and rushed over. Vic and Maya lifted it and when they saw Andy unconscious they looked at each other, wondering what the hell had happened.

"Chief, we need an aid car," Vic said, reaching out to Andy's neck, hoping to find a pulse. "She has a pulse. Seems strong." Vic told everyone.

"First things first we need to try to get somewhere safe. Hughes and Bishop, help carry Andy. Sullivan and Montgomery carry the patient." Ross ordered and led them to a creek bed, hoping it would be safe until they could find some help.

"How are we going to get help?" Maya asked, worrying about her best friend every second she didn't wake up.

Natasha looked around, she was trying to figure it out. "Beckett, Dom." The two men looked at Ross. "Do you two feel comfortable trying to find help and leading them here?" When the men nodded she was grateful. "Go, and fast."

Dom and Sean got up and rushed away from them. They were walking for a few minutes when they saw what looked to be an engine truck. They looked at each other.

"Hey!" Sean called. "Over here! My captain is down!" Sean told them and they followed his lead.

Sean and Dom rushed back down to the rest of the team. They got Andy up and carried her to one of the aid cars that had arrived.

"Who's going with her?" Maya and Vic looked at each other.

"Bishop, you go. We'll meet you at the hospital when we finish up." Robert told her and Maya rushed to be with her best friend.
