'Trust yourself... trust myself!? What! As in decide for myself? I can't even decide what I'm gonna wearing in the morning let alone the place I'm gonna stay for the rest of my life.'
Alexis groans getting out of bed and getting ready for her choosing day.
She gets up and wakes Katie up so they can start leaving.
Alexis makes her way to the arena with Katie just then her father grasps her four arm in his hand. "If you don't choose Amity, I'll make your life a living hell." He scolds in her ear.
"You already do that." Alexis spat out snatching her arm back and walking further up with Katie.
The three of them now walk into the arena and heading to take their seats in the Amity area when Sean sees Jeanine walking toward him.
"Morning, Jeanine."
"Good morning, Sean. How's Johanna doing?" Sean and Johanna have always been good friends making Alexis and Katie close with her too. She is like a mother figure to the two girls.
"As well as can be expected. She's just caught up at Amity."
"Oh, well that's good news... and these are your children." Jeanine turns to the two girls then to Alexis. "I don't think I knew one of them was choosing today. What's your name?" Jeanine asks Alexis.
"I'm Alexis." She says shaking the woman's hand with a small smile.
"Jeanine Matthews." She then turns to Katie "And you are?" Jeanine looks down to Katie who's huddled up at Alexis's hip.
"This is katie." Alexis says placing a hand on her head as Katie is shy sometimes.
"Well, you've got a big decision to make today, Alexis. I'm sure your father will support whatever choice you make." Alexis slightly smiles and nods glancing at her dad for a moment.
The Frey family takes their seats and the choosing begins.
"The faction system is a living being composed of cells, all of you. And the only way it can survive and thrive is for each of you to claim your rightful place. The future belongs to those who know where they belong." Jeannie finishes and Marcus comes up to talk.
'I fucking hate that guy. Like I'm gonna 'beat him with my belt' type of hate. How dare he abuse his kid.' Alexis's blood boiled at the thought.
"When we leave this room, you will no longer be dependents but full-fledged members of our society. Faction before blood." Marcus finished and everyone repeated.
"Faction before blood." Alexis grips Katie's hand into hers and whispers, "I love you."
"I love you, too." Katie smiles.
Marcus starts calling names to come up one by one to choose, which even faction they choose cheer and welcome them.
"Alexis Frey." Alexis looked to her father who gave her a look and then to Katie who smiled as she let go of her sisters hand. Alexis took a deep breathe and stood up. She started making her way down to the five bowls of the five different factions.
