"Are you sure nothing is wrong?" Silver asked worriedly as Espio was quiet during breakfast and often looked at Silver. He only responded with an occasional "hm" during their conversation. "Am I talking too much?"
Espio let out a sigh, "It's nothing," He said, not wanting to talk through his findings now that Silver was so excited and upbeat. "I'm just tired," He said, and took another sip from his coffee.
"You should really take it easy this weekend, maybe go to bed early tonight," Silver suggested. "You've been working so much the last few weeks. I know it's important for your job, but some things can also wait 'til tomorrow."
Espio gave a doubtful nod, as he thought about the deadline his father had given him for this Saturday.
When they were getting ready to leave, a ringtone suddenly snapped Espio out of his thoughts. He frowned when he looked at his phone to see the incoming call from his father. Silver popped their head from the bathroom, "Who that?" They mumbled curiously with a toothbrush sticking out of their mouth.
"My father."
Silver rolled their eyes, moved to the sink and spit out the toothpaste, "What does he need this time?" They asked, annoyed.
"We will find out," Espio said uncertainly as he answered the call, "Morning, sir," He answered shortly.
Silver listened carefully, but couldn't understand his father on the other side of the call.
"We have a school trip today so I can't-" Espio said but got interrupted.
Espio let out a sigh as he listened to his father, "Can't it wait 'til after?"
Silver came curiously into the bedroom and sat down on the bedside. They looked worriedly at Espio's back. Espio made a few noises as he listened to his father's commanding tone.
"Yeah, I understand, sir," Espio said disappointedly and rubbed his temple. "I need to drop off Silvia first."
Silver's ears dropped as they heard Espio say that.
"Yes sir," Espio said and ended the call. He let out a deep sigh.
"Let me guess," Silver said in monotone, "You can't come to the museum with me?"
Espio turned with a troubled expression, "I'm sorry," He apologised.
Silver shrugged their shoulders, "It's okay," They said but couldn't hide their disappointment.
Espio gulped and went to sit next to them, "I hate this too," He said and took their hand, "I hope to return as soon as I can."
Silver intertwined their fingers and smiled endearingly at Espio, "Well, at least we'll have that trip during the next school break," They said.
"Of course," Espio said with an endearing smile and stroked Silver's quills.

Silver held Espio's waist tightly on their way to school. They probably would never get used to traveling by motorcycle.
They both took off their helmets as he stopped the bike at school. In front of the school, two big touring busses were parked, and a lot of students were already getting into the busses to take their seats.
Silver let theirself slide from the bike to get back on their feet. "I will see you soon, right?" Silver said and passed their helmet to Espio.
"Of course," Espio said with a nod and an endearing smile.
Silver waved to Tails who was already waiting for them next to the bus.
"Go on," Espio said, "Have a great time."
